This series consists of Direct Clergy Returns , which contain information about births, deaths and marriages reported to the Office of the Registrar General by clergy without the intervention of a local Division Registrar . All registrations in this series are from Simcoe County . Each type of registration is filed separately and arranged alphabetically by the surname of the father, groom or the deceased.

Birth registrations contain the following information: name, date and location of birth, and sex of newborn; parents' names (including the mother's maiden name); father's occupation; informant's name; name of the physician in attendance.

Marriage registrations contain the following information about the bride and groom: name; age; residence when married; place of birth; marital status; occupation; parents' names; religious denomination. Additional information includes: witnesses' names and residences; date and place of marriage; whether the marriage was conducted by license or by banns; signature of the officiating clergy.

Death registrations contain the following information: name, sex, age, occupation, religious denomination and place of birth of the deceased; date and cause of death; name of the physician in attendance; signature of the informant.
