'For some time a goodly number of the older residents of the Township of Beverly [originally in York, then Halton County, now part of Flamborough Township, Halton] have requested me to place upon record a short sketch of the early settlement of the Township, while some at least of the older were alive.' So wrote the author in 1889.

Originally published in 1889, in 1967 the work was reprinted and updated material added as a Centennial project.
