Accident not able to crash wedding

Toronto -- Jennifer
BELL's dreams of a perfect traditional wedding
came crashing down in a nightmarish motorcycle accident on Friday
the 13th.
The 36-year-old and her fiance Kevin
WOOD, 37, of Brampton, were
on the way to a rehearsal for their Haliburton wedding that was
set last month for the next day, July 15.
Kevin glanced in his rear-view mirror to see his fiance losing
control of her bike and sliding across the shoulder.
"All I got was a glimpse of the chrome glistening in the sun
as it rolled," he said yesterday.
She ended up with torn muscles and tendons in her leg and multiple
breaks in her arm that may be paralysed for life. But the couple
was still determined to get married.
And they did, yesterday in an informal outdoor ceremony at the
health-care facility where Jennifer is receiving treatment.
In a wheelchair with her arm in a sling, Jennifer came down the
aisle as Kevin waited under a gazebo decorated with lace and
flowers. The groom also chose less-traditional wedding apparel
-- a Hawaiian shirt and black cotton shorts.
As Kevin knelt down on his knee to place the ring on her finger,
he shouted, "It's about time" and Jennifer shouted, "It's done!"
Medical staff blew bubbles instead of throwing rice.
"I didn't care if it was bedside, I wanted to be married to Kevin,"
Jennifer said. "This is all I ever wanted."
Despite the accident she hopes to ride a motorcycle again.
"I have no doubt that if we can make it happen, I'll get back
on a bike," she said.
