In Loving Memory of Louis Joseph LAVALLEE September 16, 1942 - March 25, 2001
Joe LAVALLEE, a resident of South Bay, died at his residence on Sunday March 25, 2001. He was born in South Bay, son of the late David LAVALLEE and the late Julia OSABABINE of Wikwemikong. He was employed as a logger and carpenter, Joe enjoyed bingo and quilting blankets. He also was involved with the community on the Education and Housing committees and very active in the Catholic Church.
Dearly loved husband of Rozina {MISHIBINIJIMA} LAVALLEE of South Bay. Dear father of Rodney, Roger and Samantha all of Wikwemikong, Lissa of Sudbury and step son Timmy of Sudbury. Dear brother of Mary LAVALLEE (predeceased,) Sylvester OSABABINE, Vincent and Thaddeus (Bonnie) LAVALLEE, Thomas (wife Elizabeth) WEMIGWANS, Wilfred (wife Evelyn,) Veronica (husband Wendy,) Rose BUPREAU (husband Ron,) Henry (wife Corrine) WEMIGWANS. Dear son-in-law of Phillip ROY, Eugene SIMON (predeceased), Howard SIMON, Francis (Laurie) SIMON (predeceased) , Malcolm SIMON, Archie FRANCIS, Terry BENNETT, Mary and Dianne SIMON, Valarie (David) LAVALLEE. Also survived by three grandchildren, Darren, Andrew, Joshua and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by grand_son Ace Louis.
Relatives and Friends called at South Bay Community Centre on Monday. The
funeral mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church, South Bay at 11: 00
a.m. with Fr. Doug McCarthy as celebrant. Interment in South Bay Cemetery.

OSAWAMICK Florence
In loving memory of Florence OSAWAMICK, August 1, 1926-February 11, 2001.
Florence OSAWAMICK, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Sunday, February 11, 2001 at the age of 74 years. Florence was born in Wikwemikong, daughter of the late John S. and Nancy {SHIGWADJA} NAGANIGWANE. She worked as a cook at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home and was a member of Anishnaabemowin Teg. Florence enjoyed knitting, crafts, gardening and attending Pow Wows and cooking for her family.
Beloved wife of John OSAWAMICK of Wikwemikong. Loving mother of Barbara (Tom), Martina (Len), Stan, Gert (Max), Bev (Louis), Ann Marie (Patrick), Lilly (Paul), Joseph (Clara), Darlene (Randy), Elizabeth (Gerard). Predeceased by two children Jean and Johnny. Proud and loving grandmother of 45 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Dear sister of James (predeceased) wife Celina, Lavina (predeceased) husband John LEWIS, Eva CYWINK (husband Nick predeceased,) Jerome (predeceased) wife Theola, Agnes WEBKAMIGAD husband Henry, Shirley WILLIAMS, Isadore wife Verna and Rosella KINOSHAMEG husband James all of Wikwemikong. Also survived by her uncle Hector SHIGWADJA and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni after 12 pm on Monday February 12, 2001. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 from Holy Cross Church at 11 am. with Father Bert FOLIOT as celebrant. Interment in Wikwemikong Cemetery.

Dennis TOULOUSE
In loving memory of Dennis TOULOUSE of Sagamok who passed away suddenly, on Friday, March 2, 2001 at the age of 20 years.
Beloved son of Fran MANDAMIN- TOULOUSE (friend Dennis Pitawanakwat) and Angus (friend Carol Eshkakogan) of Sagamok. Loving brother of Sarah of Sagamok and one step-brother and three step-sisters.
Special friend of Melissa Pattenden. Very dear grand_son of John and Victoria MANDAMIN and Sam and Ida (nee ASSINIWE) TOULOUSE. Predeceased by grandmother Madeline (née ARMSTRONG) MANDAMIN.

Dennis was a first year student at Cambrian College studying in the First Nation Financial Management Program. He was Treasurer of the Cambrian Native Student Association. He enjoyed hockey, golf, baseball and horseback riding.
Visitation was at the Nishin Community Centre, Sagamok on Sunday, March 4 from 1: 30pm. Funeral Mass was Tuesday, March 6 at 1:00 pm at the Nishin Community Centre, Sagamok with Father John Duggan officiating. Interment in the Sagamok Cemetery.

Lillian Roberta {OSWAMICK} BOURGEOIS
In loving memory of Lillian Roberta OSWAMICK BOURGEOIS, March 4 1961-March Lilly {OSWAMICK} BOURGEOIS, 3rd Degree Midewiwin kwe of the Bear Clan, passed away at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Toronto, on Thursday March 1, 2001 at the age of 39 years. Lilly was born in Little Current, daughter of John OSWAMICK and the late Florence {NAGANIGWANE} OSWAMICK. Lilly was a teacher of the Ojibwe language in Peterborough for the past two years. She also enjoyed teaching traditional customs such as jingle dress dancing, drum making and strived for the wellness of all who knew her through health and fitness workshops. Lilly was the Chief Jingle Dress Dancer of the Three Fires Midewiwin Lodge.
Beloved wife of Paul BOURGEOIS of Peterborough. Dear mother of James (Giizhigaatemonidoinini), Alexander (Wassaygezik) and Marion (Pizhiiskwe). Loving sister of Barbara (Tom), Martina (Len), Stan, Gert (Max), Bev (Louis), Pat, Ann-Marie (Patrick), Joseph (Clara), Darlene (Randy), Elizabeth (Gerard), Predeceased by a sister Jean and a brother Johnny. Dear niece of James (predeceased) wife Celina, Lavina (predeceased) husband John LEWIS, Eva CYWINK (husband Nick predeceased,) Jerome (predeceased) wife Theola, Agnes WEBKAMIGAD husband Henry, Shirley WILLIAMS, Isadore wife Verna and Rosella KINOSHAMEG husband James all of Wikwemikong, Christine OSAWAMICK and great uncle Hector SHIGWADJA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends were received at Wasse Abin High School, Wikwemikong after 10 pm. on Saturday March 3, 2001. Funeral Service was held on Monday March 5 2001 at Wasse Abin High School at 10 am with Lee Staples officiating. Interment in Wikwemikongsing Cemetery.
