Zella is 2001 Grandmother of the Year. She worked for the Canadian
Red Cross for many years, in many locations, such as Nipigon, Lions
head and St. Joseph's Island. She retired in 1975 from Mindemoya Red
Cross Hospital, where she had served for 39 years. Zella was a
beautiful knitter and all her children and grandchildren benefited and
enjoyed her wonderful creations. She loved sports of all kinds and
curled until she as well over 80 years old. Her particular and great
interest was in the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, watching them
faithfully on TV.
Visitation Monday August 27, 2001 at 1: 00pm. Funeral service at 2 Wednesday
August 29, 2001 at the Mindemoya United Church with Reverend Mary Jo Tracy
officiating. Burial to be held in Mindemoya Cemetery.
