Georgina PUTT
LEWIS
On Saturday, September 1, 2001, Georgina
PUTT
LEWIS died peacefully
at the age of 84, after battling a long illness.
Forever, she will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife and mother,
an angel who blessed her family and Friends each day of her life.
On August 28, 1917, Georgina was born to Albert and Berta
{SHEWFELT}
PUTT of Little Current, Ontario, Canada. She had one sister, Ethel
PUTT
LABRICK.
Georgina was raised in Little Current, where she met
her husband, Donald R.
LEWIS, of Ottawa, Ontario. They were married
in Casablanca, French Morocco, on August 18, 1951. She gave birth to
her son, Dr. Peter
LEWIS, in Paris, France on May 4, 1952. After
returning to the United States, she gave birth to her daughter, Julie
YOUNG, on January 17, 1954, in Dearborn, Michigan. After living in
several Southern states, she and her family settled in Eddyville,
Kentucky. Upon her husband's retirement, Georgina and Donald built a
home in Cape George Colony, near Port Townsend, Washington, where she
lived for the remaining years of her life.
Georgina, like her father Albert, was an avid card player, enjoying
bridge with her Friends on a regular basis, and teaching her children
and grandchildren to be master card players. She also was a champion
knitter and crocheter. She tended beautiful flower gardens, and had a
penchant for murder mystery novels.
Georgina is survived by her husband, still living in Port Townsend,
Washington, her son and daughter-in-law, Anita, and two grand_sons,
David and Steven
