In loving memory of Irene Myrtle PERRAULT, January 20, 1920 - October 11, 2002
Irene Myrtle PERRAULT, a resident of the Centennial Manor, Little Current, died at the Manor on Friday, October 11, 2002 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Hamsworth Township, Ontario, daughter of Thomas W. RYDER and Lotté M. HODGEKINS. Irene worked as a store clerk for many years then worked at Manitoulin Centennial Manor as a housekeeper for 10 years before retiring. Irene enjoyed knitting and fishing, both in the summer and winter and was a member of the Little Current Curling Club. Dearly loved and loving wife of Edmond Joseph PERRAULT of Little Current, loved and loving grand mother of Denise and husband Gordon CYR of Espanola and two great grand children Peter and Jessica. Predeceased by her daughter Beverley WILKIN in 1989 and one brother.
Friends were received at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Sunday October 13 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral mass was held at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Little Current on Monday October 14, 2002 at 11: 00 a.m. with Father Robert Foliot officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place at the St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

Gladys WHEELER of Stayner died on June 9, 2002 at her home in Stayner at the age of 81 years.
Daughter of the late Dora (KEOWN) MATHESON and Angus MATHESON, Gladys and her husband Harold resided in Wasaga Beach and Stayner. Gladys before she developed Alzheimer's, enjoyed her visits to her Island home and was loved by all whose lives she touched.
Beloved mother of Cheryl and her husband the late Hector HARRIS, Grandmother of Stacy and Kevin SHEARD and Elaine HARRIS and great grandmother to Melissa, Matthew, Andrew and Mason. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Gordon and Mary MATHESON, Frances Mervyn and Edna MATHESON. Predeceased by husband Harold, son-in-law Hector HARRIS, grand_son Brad HARRIS, bothers Joe, Errold and Reg and sister-in-law Catherine MATHESON and brother-in-law Howard MERVYN. A graveside funeral service was conducted by Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home of Stayner at Stayner Union Cemetery on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at 10 O'clock. The Reverend B. WILKINSON officiated.

In loving memory Rose KIMEWON- WILLIAMS (née ROY) June 1, 1926-February 26, 2002.
Rose KIMEWON- WILLIAMS, a resident of Wikwemikong passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at the age of 74 years.
She was born in Wikwemikong daughter of Francis and Christine ROY (both predeceased.) Rose was a renowned artist of tufted quill boxes. She had been commissioned many times during her career to create works for special presentations to many people including Queen Elizabeth II. Some of Rose's works are on display at the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa and the Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian) in Washington, D.C. Rose also supported her children and grandchildren as a proud hockey fan and was a loving foster mother to many children over her lifetime. Rose was an avid bingo player and enjoyed gardening and gathering wild fruits and berries for preserves.
Beloved wife of Ambrose KIMEWON- WILLIAMS (predeceased.) Dear and loving mother of the late Anthony ROY (wife May), Linda and Elizabeth (friend Ho JEREZ), Gary, and Cecil (wife Anne) LAFONTAINE. Loving grandmother of Mark, Michelle, Toni, Little Spirit, Cody and Lori.
Dear great grandmother of Ephie, Mark Jr., Joel, Ethan, Cameron and Hunter.

Agnes SHAWANA, a resident of Wikwemikong passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at the age of 77 years. Agnes was born in Wikwemikong, daughter of Frank and Christine ROY (both predeceased.) Agnes enjoyed doing many things such as cooking, gardening, sewing, fishing, crossword puzzles, scratch tickets, and cleaning and floral arranging. Her greatest joy was being a mom to the children, a good housewife and best of all "Keeping Smuggler in Line."
Dear and loving wife of Henry "Smuggler" SHAWANA, whom she had been married to for 51 and a half years. Loving mother of Marie (friend Henry), Kenneth (friend Mildred), Joseph, Mary Jane (husband Douglas), Marlene (friend Victor), Velma (friend Hugh), Simon and Beverly (friend Rick). Dear grandmother of 22 grandchildren (three grandchildren predeceased) and 4 great grandchildren (1 great grandchild predeceased). Dear sister-in-law of Marie ROY. Predeceased by one brother, Onezime ROY and two sisters, Rose WILLIAMS and Mary PANGOWISH. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean was born on October 14, 1910 on the DEWAR family farm in Carnarvon Twp., daughter of the late William and Harriet {KAY} DEWAR. Predeceased by her husband Russell (May 6, 1974.)

She enjoyed spending her summers at their camp, Eagle's Nest on Lake Manitou, playing bridge, knitting, crocheting and gardening.

Eloween WILSON died peacefully Sunday June 9, 2002 at the age of 74 at Sunnybrook Hospital.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Archie and is survived by her four children Richard, Alan, Sandra, and John and her ten grandchildren Christine, David, Tracey, Aaron, Denix, Ori, Byron, Jessica, Diana, and Finlay. She was the last surviving child of Jessica May (FERGUSON) and David WILLIAMSON.
Eloween will be remembered by the students of Nickel District High School in Sudbury and public schools in Mindemoya and Espanola. She will be missed on the waters of Rathburn Lake, the skidoo trails of the Kawarthas, the euchre tables of Providence Bay and the show tables of the Campbell Township Horticultural Society.
Memorial services will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Thursday June 13th at St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Mindemoya, Ontario. The family would like to thank the Air Ambulance crew and the staff of the Sunnybrook Hospital for their help. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Ross Tilley Burn Unit or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

In loving memory of Norah (PROCTOR) LANKIN, July 9, 1910-July 3, 2002.
Norah (PROCTOR) LANKIN, a resident of Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the age of 91. She was born in Toronto, daughter of the late James and Catherine STEELE.
Norah was employed as a salesperson at Simpson's store for 23 years before moving to Gore Bay in 1985. She was a member of the All Saint's Anglican Church, Gore Bay. Norah was a volunteer at Manitoulin Lodge for many years and helped at many church functions as well. She also enjoyed knitting, playing euchre and did make many crafts for Teas and Bazaars and sewing clothes for her family.
Dear and loving wife of the late Mervin LANKIN (predeceased 1981) and the late Ev PROCTOR (predeceased 1995.) Dear mother of Lois BADENHORST and husband Vic of Ice Lake and Judith Hicken and husband Alan of Millgrove. Proud grandmother of Lisa, Wade, Catherine and Anna. Dear sister of Edna WILSON of Barrie and Aileen MUNSHAW of Toronto and predeceased by three sisters Kathleen, Mary, Marjorie and two brothers Samuel and James STEELE.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 4, 2002. The funeral service was conducted from the Wm. G. Turner Chapel of the Culgin Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2002 at 2: 00 p.m. with Mr. Erwin THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON officiating. Interment of cremated remains to follow at a later date.

Beloved husband of June (née TRIE) of Walford. Dear son of the late Arthur and Harriet SLACK. Loving father of Laura (Mrs. Conrad CALDWELL) of Woodbridge and Arthur SLACK of Toronto. Stepfather to Kim (Mrs. Todd LECLAIR) and Mike WILSON both of Massey. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Tyler, Todd, Bruce, Denise, Dillyn, Ryan and Chanelle. At Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, September 19, 2002, at the age of 68. David is the loving husband of Joan (MURISON;) cherished brother of Marian and Bill BIEMAN brother-in-law of Evelyn WILSON, Pearl and Ted SMITH, Vivian GALLO, Marie MARTIN; and "little brother" of Marion Hannah and Gwen Wharram. He is also a dear uncle of Peter and Leslie BIEMAN, David BIEMAN, Lynda and Peter DUCKWORTH, Wayne and Aiko MURPHY, Bonnie WINCHESTER, Tim and Carole MARTIN, Gaye and Marty DUNLOP, Scott and Anna MARTIN, and Heidi McCRON. David loves his many great-nieces and nephews as he also mutually loved his music students during his 25 years at North Toronto Collegiate. Even as a teenage organist, David served his Lord through the ministry of music. Just this week we discussed the idea that "life is like music - some high notes and some low notes, but a wonderful song none the less." David and Joan thank their many caring Friends at East York Community Care Access Centre and at Sunnybrook. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, September 22. Service to be held at Trinity United Church, 461 Park Avenue (at Main Street), Newmarket on Monday, September 23 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Markdale Cemetery. David is the loving husband of Joan (MURISON;) cherished brother of Marian and Bill BIEMAN brother-in-law of Evelyn WILSON, Pearl and Ted SMITH, Vivian GALLO, Marie MARTIN; and "little brother" of Marion Hannah and Gwen Wharram. He is also a dear uncle of Peter and Leslie BIEMAN, David BIEMAN, Lynda and Peter DUCKWORTH, Wayne and Aiko MURPHY, Bonnie WINCHESTER, Tim and Carole MARTIN, Gaye and Marty DUNLOP, Scott and Anna MARTIN, and Heidi McCRON. David loves his many great-nieces and nephews as he also mutually loved his music students during his 25 years at North Toronto Collegiate. Even as a teenage organist, David served his Lord through the ministry of music. Just this week we discussed the idea that "life is like music - some high notes and some low notes, but a wonderful song none the less." David and Joan thank their many caring Friends at East York Community Care Access Centre and at Sunnybrook. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, September 22. Service to be held at Trinity United Church, 461 Park Avenue (at Main Street), Newmarket on Monday, September 23 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Markdale Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 20 Holly Street, Suite 101, Toronto M4S 3B1, or Sleeping Children Around the World, 28 Pinehurst Crescent, Toronto M9A 3A5, would be appreciated by David's family.
