Julia PHEASANT
In loving memory of Julia PHEASANT, August 22, 1911-September 3, 2002.
Julia PHEASANT, a resident of M'Chigeeng passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya on Tuesday September 3, 2002 at the age of 91 years. Julia was born in M'Chigeeng daughter of the late Raphael and Henrietta (BEAUCAGE) PHEASANT. Julia worked as a cook most of her life and returned to M'Chigeeng in 1994. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and traveling to various parts of Canada and the United States.
Dear and loving aunt of Ruth MIGWANS of M'Chigeeng and Ursula McLEAN of Sault Ste. Marie. Dear sister of Ambrose PHEASANT (predeceased.) Also survived by great nieces and great nephews. Friends and relatives called at the home of Ruth MIGWANS in M'Chigeeng on Wednesday September 4, 2002. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, September 5, 2002 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, M'Chigeeng with Father Robert FOLIOT officiating. Interment in M'Chigeeng Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Wellness Centre in M'Chigeeng would be appreciated. Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay in charge of arrangements.

In loving memory of Dwayne Alvin KEYS, August 17, 1958 to November 6, 2002, who passed away at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay at the age of 44 years.
Loved father of Jennifer and Christopher. Companion of Leslie. Will be forever missed by mother Sheila (née HALL) and step father Ernest BOBO. Predeceased by father Alvin KEYS in 1991. Dear brother of Kelly and husband John HICKS of Thunder Bay, Linda Milburn, Mary McLELLAN and Hazel all of Saskatoon. Special uncle to Matthew, Kirstin and Kaitlin HICKS. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, November 13, 2002 and Funeral Service on Thursday (please call Island Funeral Home for details 368-2490) followed by burial in Hilly Grove Cemetery.

Larry Delmore CARR
In loving memory Larry Delmore CARR, July 9, 1945-June 11, 2002.
Larry CARR, a former resident of Manitowaning passed away at his home in Sudbury on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the age of 56 years. Larry was born in Burpee Township son of Jack and Verna (CAMPBELL) CARR (both predeceased). Larry enjoyed reading, hockey, baseball, a good game of cards and antique cars. He also was a member of the Manitowaning Curling Club and an avid curler. Larry worked for Air Cab in Sudbury for several years. Dear husband of Jill (McLENNAN) CARR of Manitowaning. Loving father of Melanie CARR of Manitowaning. Dear brother of Bill and his wife Janne CARR of Sudbury. Also survived by a niece Carol WALLGREN and husband Andy and a nephew Bill CARR.
Funeral service was held from the Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, June 14 with Pastor Wally WOOD officiating. Interment followed in Hilly Grove Cemetery, Manitowaning. Arrangements entrusted to Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home.

Tuesday morning, September 24th, 2002 at the Extendicare York.
Beloved husband of Mildred (NAUMANN) BLUM, predeceased 1994, loving father of Ross (wife Marjorie) predeceased 1995, Raymond (wife Penny) of Sault Ste. Marie, Thomas (wife Val) of North Battleford, Frank Jr. (wife Cheryl) of Sarnia, Richard (wife Donna) of Walden, Robert (wife Joyce) of Swift Current, Barbara (husband Sandy MacLENNAN) and Brenda (husband Chris CAYEN) both of Walden. Cherished grandpa of 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dear son of Nicholas and Doris BLUM both predeceased. Dear brother of Bill HOTTEN of North Bay, predeceased by Irene GUCKENBERGER, John, Helen STUMPF and Nick. Born in Baden, he worked at INCO Levack and Creighton Mines for 37 years, returning in 1972. He served overseas in World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Lively Branch then Little Current Branch. He was a past chief of the Creighton Volunteer Fire Department. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral service was held in the RJ Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Sudbury Thursday, September 26, 2002 at 4 p.m. Cremation in the Parklawn Crematorium.

Margaret Edith LEWIS
In loving memory of Margaret Edith LEWIS, September 1, 1916 to July 19, 2002.
Margaret LEWIS, a resident of Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Friday, July 19, 2002 at the age of 85.
She was born in Barrie Island, daughter of the late John and Mabel Edith (GAMBLE) CALBACK. Margaret was a housewife and worked on the family farm all her life until she retired to Gore Bay. She was a member of the Lyons Memorial United Church and was a long-time volunteer at the Lodge. She also enjoyed knitting and a good game of cards. Margaret was a social person who enjoyed helping and visiting many people over the years.
Dear and loving wife of the late Arden LEWIS who predeceased her in 1984. Dear mother of Ronald LEWIS and wife Nancy of Gore Bay, Marlene BURNS and husband Stewart of Gordon, Bill LEWIS and wife Gail of Espanola, Betty MASTERS of B.C., Maxine McLEOD and husband Jim of Ice Lake and Barbara ARMSTRONG and husband Scott of Gore Bay. Proud grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 33. Predeceased by one grand_son Jeff LEWIS. Dear sister of Mary COBURN and John CALBACK both predeceased. Dear sister-in-law of Mary KERHANOVICH (friend Earl), Doreen GRANGER (George), Madeline HOLOWACK, Margaret C. LEWIS and Garth and Griffin. Predeceased by Bill LEWIS and George and Ina BREATHAT. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home on Sunday, July 21, 2002. The funeral service was conducted from the Wm. G. Turner Chapel of the Culgin
Funeral Home, on Monday July 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment followed in Long Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Culgin Funeral Home.

Henry Francis McLEOD
In loving memory of Henry Francis McLeod, February 25, 1943 to September 8, 2002. Common Law husband of Charlotte BEAUDRY of Wikwemikong for 27 years. son of Annie and Angus McLEOD (Both predeceased.) Brother of Eugene, Theodore, John, Leslie, Mathew, Gus, Barbara, Jean, Audrey and Margaret. Predeceased by sister and brothers, Grace, Joseph, Edward and Philip. (all of Sagamok First Nation). Step father of Johnny (special Friend Millie), Bernadette, Marjorie, all of Wikwemikong, Rose Ann (special friend Eddy) of Sudbury, Stanley, Stewart (special friend Betty) of Sagamok and Sara of Sudbury. Greatly missed by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Henry will be greatly missed by 17 step grandchildren whom he parented over the years, especially Jonathon, Angus, Leslie, Alwyn and Arizona. Henry enjoyed camping, traveling and visiting family and Friends. He was a handy man who was always fixing things around the house or camp. He has a special love for his step grandchildren. Visitation was held on Tuesday September 10 Buzwah Church. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 2: 00 p.m. at the Holy Cross Mission Church in Wikwemikong. Burial in the Wikwemikong Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Island Funeral Home.

David Lawrence ENOSSE

evening, October 25th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre at the age of 51 years.
Loving father of Lawrence and D'Arcy both of Sudbury and Crystal of Wikwemikong. Dear grandfather of Aurora OMINIKA- ENOSSE and special grandchildren Winona and Dillon OMINIKA. Godfather of Ralphie GONAWABI, Sky McLEOD and Ashley MANITOWABI. Dear son of Georgina ENOSSE of Wikwemikong and the late Lawrence ENOSSE. Dear brother of Gary (wife Muriel) of Elliot Lake, Zoey (husband Jim) of Sault Ste. Marie and the late Claudette and Elaine (both predeceased). Survived by many nieces and nephews. David enjoyed being with children. He was active in children's sports and organized children's hockey and acted as a coach for children's baseball. He was a fundraiser for children's sports and he provided transportation to many community events.
Resting at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni, Ontario. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, October 29, 2002. Interment in the Wikwemikong Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
