LESLIE, Ruth -- (A member of Ebenezer United Church and Canadian Daughters League No. 29. Worked as an inspector for Johnson Controls, Scarborough since 1949. Ruth retired with thirty-three years service in 1982). Peacefully, at Extendicare, on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, LESLIE, Dorothy Ruth (née NICHOLS.) Born in Courtice, on April 7, 1917, Ruth was the daughter of the late James NICHOLS and Maria Christana NICHOLS. Her husband Harry LESLIE and her stepmother Mrs. Mary NICHOLS died before her. She is also survived by five sisters, Irene ALDSWORTH of Courtice, Florence CORY of Oshawa, Connie McKINNON of Perth, Beverly WALLIS of Oshawa, Sandra STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Oshawa and four brothers, Maxwell of Toronto, Jim, Robert and Art of Oshawa. Predeceased by five brothers, Bert, Bill, Percy, Ted, Herb and three sisters, Ada YOUNG, Grace BOWLER and May McCOLL. Relatives and Friends may pay their respects at the Mcintosh-Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at Ebenezer United Church, 1669 Courtice Rd., Courtice, on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 2: 00 p.m. Interment Ebenezer United Church Cemetery. In loving memory of Margaret Elizabeth "Anne" NEWSON who passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England while on a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Beloved wife of the late Donald NEWSON and dear daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret CARTER (née BEVAN.) Fondly remembered in our hearts forever by her children, Greg (Susan AELICK) of Lively, Margaret (Geoff HADDOCK) of Bristol, England and William (Sharon HILL) of Toronto, and her grandchildren Kyla and Connor NEWSON of Lively.
Sister of Ted CARTER (Peggy LAWSON) of Guelph, Alice (Pete BAKER) of Gores Landing, Sharon (Ted McCOLLUM) of Cambridge, and the late Don CARTER. Daughter-in-law of Margaret Isabelle NEWSON and the late Roy Newson of Barrie, and sister-in-law of Al and Lou Ann NEWSON of Cardinal.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Burnham Street, RR#4, Cobourg. Interment, St. Peter's Cemetery, Cobourg.
