BARBER, Reginald
Peacefully, on Friday, December 24th, 2004, at the Lee Manor Nursing Home, in Owen Sound, in his 96th year. Reginald W. BARBER, the beloved husband of the late Daisy Gladys BARBER (née ILES.) Loving father of Marilyn and her husband, Jack WILLITON, Joan and her husband, George BUCKTON, Vernon and his wife, Ruth, Doreen IRVING, Clifford and Betty-Lou and her husband, Lorne FARROW. Dear brother of Norman and his wife, Doris, Eileen (Mrs. Earl WEPPLER.) Dear grandfather of twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Father-in-law of Georgia (Mrs. Trueman BARBER.) Predeceased by his son, Trueman his brothers, Howard and Aubrey; his sisters, Evelyn, Mary, Annie, Dorothy and Beatrice and by his granddaughter, Barbara WILLITON and Leanne WALKER, and great-granddaughter, Kylie TILSON. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home, on Monday, from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Owen Sound Salvation Army Citadel, on Tuesday afternoon at 1: 00 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre M.R.I. Fund or to the Owen Sound Salvation Army.

Owen Sound man drowns in harbour
An autopsy conducted on Saturday, May 29, determined that a man pulled from the waters of the Collingwood harbour had drowned.
The Collingwood Ontario Provincial Police said that they, the Coroner's Office and the Ontario Ministry of Labour are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of Donald BUCKTON, a 59-year-old Owen Sound resident.
Police said they believe he fell Into the harbour while collecting water in a tanker truck for a construction firm.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, May 28, the man's co-workers came to the scene and found the tanker truck, with its motor running, next to the harbour, with BUCKTON nowhere in sight.
The Ontario Provincial Polices underwater search and recovery unit, based out of Gravenhurst, was called in and recovered BUCKTON's body shortly before 5: 30 p.m.
