The family of the late Mark Andrew MUELLEJANS wish to extend their sincerest thanks to all our Friends and to Mark's many Friends, former students and colleagues at Ekcoe Central School, North Meadows School and the several other schools where Mark had worked during his brief teaching career. Our profound thanks and gratitude goes out to the community at large who gave us their tremendous support in the form of cards, flowers, food, donations and encouragement. Our thanks also go to the many visitors who not only shared in our loss and sorrow but also provided us with many stories and memories of their experiences with Mark. It was a much appreciated tribute to Mark. Our special thanks go out to the teachers at North Meadows School, Paramedics and the E.R. staff at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital for their dedicated efforts during Mark's time of need. We also offer our appreciation to Reverend Joye PLATFORD for her comforting words to our family during her visits at our home and the funeral service. Our appreciation also goes to the Glencoe Presbyterian Church "Willing Workers" for their effort in providing sustenance for the many people after the funeral. Our many thanks to you for a job well done on such short notice for so many. Lila's courage, strength, tenacity, intelligence and generous spirit made an enormous impact on all those who knew and loved her; her family, Friends, colleagues and community. Lila was a loving wife and mother, teacher, author, social worker, advocate and social justice activist. Her absence will be profoundly felt by her daughters Tatiana (Mary DI SALVO,) Vanessa (Patty BARCLAY,) sister Marjorie DALTON (Joe DALTON,) Ludmilla PLATT, her caregiver and friend and her chosen circle of loving Friends. Beloved husband of the late Nataline (ALVARO) PLATTEN (1996) and dearly loved father of Gary (Charlotte) PLATTEN of Camlachie and Debbie (Joe) WILLERT of Saint Thomas and the late Steve W. PLATTEN (1997.) Dear father-in-law of Evelyn PLATTEN of Saint Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren. He was the last of his family. Don worked over 40 years of the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He served during World War 2 and was a member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also a member of the Elgin Labour Centre and was an avid golfer at the Pleasant Valley Golf Club. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery.
