Cherished son of Marie and the late Ralph STEEL of Ridgetown. Beloved husband of Melba STEEL. Dear father of Robert "Bobby" STEEL. Dear son-in-law of Les and Velma SNOBELEN of Blenheim. Kathleen was born in England, April 24, 1915 and was a long time resident of Kipling Acres, where she was much loved, and admired for her kind and cheerful disposition. Kathy was sent to Canada, as an orphan, by the British Government, with a boatload of young children in 1930, to work as a mother's helper. She soon after joined the family of the late Edna and Roy TASH, as a nanny for their daughters Norma (McFADDEN/ PEARCE) and Bette (BARRETT/ ESCH.) Kathy▼ lived with them in Montreal and Toronto for 50 years, becoming a treasured member of the family, and a 'second mother' to the girls. She was a beloved grandmother figure to their children: Doug, Dave, Wayne McFADDEN, Marilyn▼ STERN, and Bruce, Larry and Scott BARRETT. A dear great-grandmother of twelve. Although Kathy never married, she met the 'love of her life', the late Ernie SNODDEN at Kipling Acres. Many thanks to the staff, Friends and volunteers on the 4th floor who so ably cared for her. If desired, donations to Kipling Acres would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Private interment in the McFadden-Barrett family plot, Park Lawn Cemetery.

He was the developer of Agricultural, Residential, Commercial and Industrial properties in the Simcoe area and Insurance Appraiser of Antique and Classic Vehicles for over 45 years. Mr. STACKHOUSE's Community involvement included, former member of Simcoe Rotary, Simcoe Lions Club, Simcoe Minor Hockey Coach, Board Member of Ontario Housing Authority, Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary, Simcoe and District Chamber of Commerce serving on several committees, and Corvettes of Southern Ontario. Painter born at St-Lambert, Quebec, on June 8, 1931. After studying at the Ontario College of Art, he gave his first exhibition (shared with Michael SNOW) in 1955. His first one-man show occurred in 1956 at the Greenwich Gallery in Toronto. His art reflected interests in Dadaism and jazz. He later devoted his energies to painting the abstracted human figure. He also taught at Ontario College of Art and at York University.

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Powell River, British Columbia, on Sunday March 27, 2005. Cecilie was born in Southampton, England on October 26, 1913. Predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas William in 1988 (Doug was the first Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for North York. The Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre is named in his honour). Survived by her sister Freda and brother Leslie, and nephew Tom, all in England, and two daughters, Jane (Dave) of Powell River and Susan of Kelowna, British Columbia. Cecilie met Doug in England during World War 2, married October 31, 1945 and followed her husband to live in Willowdale in 1946. In 1992, Cecilie moved to Kelowna to live near her daughter Susan. Then moved to Powell River in November 2003 to live with her other daughter Jane. Cecilie lived a full and rich life. All who met her felt her love and warm, caring way. Cecilie was kind and generous, and a true lady. She will be sadly missed by Friends and family. Heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Team and Home Support in Powell River; you do an awesome job. To celebrate Cecilie's life, a gathering was held at Selby House, 5300 Yukon Avenue, Powell River, British Columbia., on March 31st, 2005.

Fifty-five years ago, 350 members of the 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, were en route to Fort Lewis, Washington., and thence to the Korean War when their troop train collided with an eastbound passenger express near Canoe River, British Columbia Twelve soldiers were killed instantly, four died aboard the rescue train, and one died in hospital. They were Arden ATCHISON (Loon Lake, Saskatchewan.), Weldon BARKHOUSE (Wolfville, Nova Scotia), Norman CARROLL (Pennant, Saskatchewan.), Frederick CONWAY (Grand Falls, Newfoundland.), Robert CRAIG (Foam Lake, Saskatchewan.), Austin GEORGE (Eight Island Lake, Newfoundland.), Urbain LÉVESQUE (Ottawa), Robert MANLEY (Niagara Falls, Ontario), Basil McKEOWN (Moscow, Ontario), Albert ORR (Calgary), David OWENS (Granby, Quebec), Leslie SNOW (Saint John's), Albert STROUD (Howley, Newfoundland.), Joseph THISTLE (Conception Bay, Newfoundland.), James WENKERT (Cowansville, Quebec), James WHITE/WHYTE (Placentia Bay, Newfoundland.) and William WRIGHT (Neepawa, Manitoba.) Peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday December 1, 2005 at the Sunrise Senior Living in Burlington, Keith STAPLES in his 82nd year beloved husband and friend of the late Elva STAPLES (TRASK.) Dear friend of Doreen McKERRICKER. Beloved father of Scott and Andre, Rhonda and Mike, Jeff and Patty. Dearest grandfather of Chris, Julia, Rachel, Caitlin, Jeff, Jessica, Amy, Shaun, Dean, and Michelle. Keith is survived by sisters-in-law Enid WHALE and her husband Elwin, Wilma SNOWE, Marjorie McDOWELL, Jean TRASK and brothers-in-law Morley TRASK and his wife Thelma, Murray TRASK and his wife Mavis, Keith is also survived by a number of wonderful nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Wilfred TRASK, Garth McDOWELL and Allan SNOWe. Keith was a graduate of Queens University 1947, he was a research chemist with Proctor and Gamble and a G.M. with John A. Huston/Colgate Palmolive and a councilor and consultant for George Brown College and C.E.S.O. The family will receive their Friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church Street, Elora. From 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Service will be held on Monday December 5 at 1: 00 p.m. at the Alma United Church. With Reverend SCHNIDER officiating at the service. Followed by burial of the cremated remains at the Elora cemetery. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on Sunday, December 11, 2005. Bill will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Dot (née McQUEEN,) of 54 years. Loving father of Deborah and Diane, devoted 'Papa' to Leslie and Lisa, respected father-in-law to Bruce (Earley.) Loving brother of Betty (SNOW) and Cathy (DWYER.) Uncle Bill will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Especially important to Bill were his many long time Friends whom he and Dot shared many happy times with. Thank you to Dr. HANNA, and the Critical Care Unit staff at Sunnybrook who were all such great help to us. What an honour and privilege to call this man, Dad.
