Friends called at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, Friday evening, November 25. Reverend Mark WAUGH officiated at a funeral service held at Annesley United Church, Markdale, Saturday, November 26 at 2: 30 p.m.
A eulogy and remembrances were shared by grandchildren Danna, Douglas and Eric. Music included the congregational hymns "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus," accompanied by organist David FRIES. Special music "Somebody's Hero" was played at the conclusion of the service.
The grand_sons of Iris served as pallbearers and honourary pallbearers, and her granddaughters carried floral tributes. Interment was in Markdale Cemetery.
Memorial donations were directed to the Centre Grey Hospital Health Services Foundation - Building Fund and the charity of choice. Following the service the Friends and relatives joined the family for refreshments and fellowship in Annesley United Church Fellowship Hall.

Suddenly at Hamilton General Hospital on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Robert J. SWENOR of Hannon in his 67th year. Beloved husband of Arlene (née CROFT) SWENOR. Loving father of Joel (Mimi,) Jason (Caitlin BRYAN) and Kyle (Penelope.) Loved grandfather of Emma, Owen, Rosie, Gordon, Evan, Madeleine, Jolyon and Jemima. Dear brother of Norma, Joyce (Vic) JOHNSON and Bill (Christine.) Predeceased by Ida PONTIN, Jean HATTON, Frank, Lois HALL, Anne COLBERT and Helen. Bob retired from his position at Dofasco as Sr. Vice-President, Corporate Administration in 1997 after 39 years of service. Bob was sitting on the board of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (Chairman 1998-2004) at the time of his death. Bob had also served as President of Algoma Steel Corp. (1990-1991) and had served on the boards of the Hamilton Port Authority, Sorevco Inc., Gallatin Steel, Prudential Steel Ltd. Ontario Labour Relations Board, Hamilton Civic Hospitals, Hamilton-Wentworth Police Citizens Advisory Board and Participation House. Bob was a member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce (President 1997-98, Chairman 1998-99), International Iron and Steel Institute, Conference Board of Canada and the Council of Human Resource Executives. At Bob's request, cremation has taken place, his family will receive Friends at the M.A. Clark and Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington Street, Hamilton, Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral celebration to be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 70 James Street South (at Jackson), Hamilton, on Monday, November 21 at 3: 00 p.m. Reception to follow at Hamilton Golf and Country Club, Ancaster. SWENSON, Robert C.
Passed away peacefully July 10, 2005. 'Bob', born in Winnipeg in 1928, lived in Toronto since 1944. He wintered in Florida and loved his cottage on Lake Muskoka. He was President then Chairman of the Board of Swenson Canada, a manufacturer of electric hair clippers and hair care products. A graduate of University of Western Ontario, '50. As a young businessman he was active in Toronto's Junior Board of Trade. Later he served as President of Canada's Allied Beauty Association. Bob was loved and respected by his employees, customers, and competitors. His wonderful sense of humour made people laugh and feel good about themselves. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his Swenson family members - sister Sally of Kelowna, British Columbia, cousin and business partner Jack (Cathy,) nieces Christina Swenson O'HARA (David and children,) Dr. Brigit Swenson SOARES (Duane,) nephews Kurt, and Douglas, cousins Corinne Swenson SCOTT (David,) Barry O'NEILL (Marly,) and Constance MacDONALD, as well as by all of his many Friends.
