Passed away peacefully in hospital on Thursday, February 10, 2005. Beloved husband and best friend of Phyllis. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters Donna, Karen and Marie and his sons-in-law, Marvin LUCHKO, Rick▼ MacKIEWICZ and Jeffrey KAVANAGH, grandchildren Peter, Meagan, Lucy and Will also his devoted sister Jean and brother-in-law George HARMAN of Calgary. Norman spent 25 years in the paint and coatings industry before owning and operating Vicam Stationers Limited. Norm was a proud honorary member of the Grunt Club of Montreal and the Toronto Marine Club; also a long time member of Beaconsfield Golf Club in Quebec and Credit Valley Golf Club in Ontario. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their many kindnesses. WHITEHEAD, Alan Frederick (November 27, 1916-June 12, 2005)
Passed away peacefully at Versa Care in Lambeth of an age related illness. Born and raised in London, Ontario, Alan had the passion of his generation for the novetly of aviation. As a teenager he earned a dollar per day working along the railway lines and used it to pay for five dollar per hour flying lessons at the London Airfield. He had already logged solo flights when he volunteered with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939 and trained as a navigator. After the war, he joined Bell Canada and held many managerial positions during his 38 years of service.
Dearly missed by his beloved wife Helen Marjorie▼ (McKIGGAN,) daughter Heather (John) TRUSSLER of Kitchener, son Alan John (Lucille) WHITEHEAD of Windsor and daughter Stephanie (Robert) INGALLS of Windsor. Grandfather of Bryan TRUSSLER of Kitchener, Scott (Corrie) INGALLS of Toronto, Sean INGALLS of British Columbia, Erin WHITEHEAD and Craig CHARNOCK of Toronto, and Meighen WHITEHEAD of Windsor. Passed away peacefully on July 17th, 2005 at Melville Lodge Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Toronto in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Lillian BUCHAN. She is survived by her husband Robert McKIGGAN, Halifax, children Bill (Colette POIRIER,) Dartmouth and Janis, Vancouver, and grandchildren, Rosa, Julien, and Omega. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Jean BELLINGER and her brother Jack BUCHAN. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was fully devoted to her husband Bob for 66 years. Her children remember many happy and carefree summer days spent with her at their cottage in Highgate Springs, Vermont. She was known for her love of curling, her warm smile, easy laughter and camaraderie with a close group of women Friends in Montreal where she raised her family. She delighted in her grandchildren, and even in years of her decline with Alzheimer disease, her face would brighten in their presence. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Melville Lodge for providing excellent care for Marie in the last years of her life. A memorial service and reception will be held on Thursday, July 21st from 2-4 at Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. 93, passed away October 16, 2005, in the Victoria General Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Woodstock, Ontario in 1912, he was the son of the late Albert and Leta McKIGGAN. He is survived by his son, Bill (Colette POIRIER;) grandchildren Rosa and Julien, Dartmouth daughter, Janis, Vancouver; granddaughter, Omega. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Marie McKIGGAN in July of this year. Marie was the centre of Bob's life. Together, they raised their two children and dog Timmy in the Montreal area, enjoying curling with Friends at the Point Claire Curling Club in winter and spending many carefree summer days at their family cottage in Highgate Springs, Vermont. Bob worked for Mutual Life of Canada for more than 40 years and was mortgage manager in Montreal for most of his career. The couple moved to Toronto after Bob's retirement and subsequently moved to Halifax in 1986 to be near their son, Bill. They enjoyed their apartment on Willett Street, its good neighbours and beautiful view of the Northwest Arm. Bob cared for Marie there in the early phases of Alzheimer disease and displayed great dignity and devotion until her death. A memorial service and reception will be held on Wednesday, October 19 from 2-4 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Cremation will have taken place. In quiet dignity and grace, surrounded by family, Pat left to join her husband John on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents William and Florrie RUSHBY, step-father Robert McKILLIGAN, sisters Mary MEADOWS and Irene BARGER and brother Fred. She will be forever missed and her memories will be cherished by her children Linda (Woody) MILLEMAN of Escondido, California; Howard (Pat) of Iona Gail (Chris) HANKINSON of Dorchester; her grandchildren; Lisa (Jim) ROBERTS of Saint Thomas, Laura (Les) HALSELL of Sulphur, Oklahoma, greatgrandchildren; Jennifer and Matthew ROBERTS and Sydney and Ashley HALSELL as well as nieces and nephews in both Canada and England.
Pat was born and raised in Leeds. In 1937 she married John. Their 63 years of married life took them to many places including Winnipeg, Toronto, Los Angeles, back to Leeds and finally to London, Ontario. Pat loved to dance, travel, play scrabble, do crossword puzzles, cruise the Internet, her Friends, and most of all her family and above all the Lord. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 1: 30 p.m. at The Church of Redeemer, Grosvenor and Adelaide Streets, London. CROFT, Glenard▲▼ Joseph▲▼
Glenard Joseph CROFT was born on January 15, 1921, the oldest son of Ned CROFT and Marian SAYERS. He had two brothers Ted who predeceased him, and Robert, both from Flesherton.
Glen was married to Dorothy OTTEWELL, who died in 1951, along with his baby son. He remarried in 1953 to Hazel McKILLOP who died in 1961 leaving behind a daughter Marian. In 1962 he married Eleanor NICKERSON. They parted ways in 1971 but he continued to raise his daughter Diane.
Glen served in World War 2 with the 4th Anti-Tank, 5th Division Infantry. He fought in England, North Africa, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He kept in touch with his comrades, phoning them often and attending reunions when possible, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #333, Flesherton.
During his life he farmed in the Ceylon area, had a garage built north of Flesherton for business purposes, hauled logs, snow plowed in the area and spent over 30 years working for Franceschini Bros. in Brampton. Due to back problems he was forced to retire. During his retirement he would pick up cars for a used car dealer and would be out visiting at the local businesses, restaurants and his other Friends.
Glen was a strong willed and determined man who fought hard with his health problems but on May 18, 2005 he lost the battle and passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Markdale.
The visitation was held at the Fawcett Funeral Home on May 20. The service was held at the Rock Mills Fellowship Baptist Church on May 21. Pastor Wayne HEIKKINEN offered the prayers and welcome and Reverend Don PRINCE offered the scripture reading, reflections and prayer. Murray BETTS delivered the eulogy. The pallbearers were Peter McCRACKEN, Ron LOUCKS, Wayne CROFT, Charlie LEVER, Ryan CROFT and Phil McENANEY. Flowerbearers were Brianne JOLLY, Brad JOLLY, William BEASLEY, Angel BEASLEY and Cameron BEASLEY. The lunch was served at the Prince Arthur Lodge hall by the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Loving father of Amanda (Andrew), Esther and Alexandra. Expert securities analyst, outdoorsman, skier and canoeist. For his robust sense of humour, big smile, joyous sharing of his Georgian Bay cottages, his generous hosting of all celebrations with family and Friends and his deeply felt loyalty to his many "chums", relatives and family, he will be greatly missed. Fran▼ proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Later, she worked in special education at Brown and Jesse Ketcham public schools. She will be remembered for her strength, athleticism and lifelong interest in tennis and art. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the St. Michael's Hospital dialysis unit, as well as the numerous home care and palliative care workers who provided comfort and support. MacDONALD, Dr. Hugh Neil Archibald
Age 82, in Halifax, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the Coronary Care Unit, Queen Elizabeth 2nd, Halifax. Born on July 21, 1922 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Ronald Hugh and Annie (JOHNSON) MacDONALD. Hugh was a Veteran of the Second World War in which he served overseas as an officer. When he returned he studied medicine at Dalhousie University and practiced as a neurologist for many years in Halifax. He retired in 1997 and since 1998 resided at the Veterans' Memorial Building in Halifax. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Barbara (Douglas DEACON) MacDONALD and son Dr. David (Grazia GALLI) MacDONALD; grandchildren Jennifer and Kate MacDONALD and Jonas, Hélène and Rob DEACON; great-granddaughter Marion Elizabeth DEACON; sisters Edith MacGIBBON and Laura POOLE; and many special nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Angus, sisters Tena McKILLOP and Gladys FIOLEK, and his granddaughter Marion DEACON. No visitation or flowers by his request. A Memorial Service will be held at Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. Another Memorial Service will follow at the time of interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Glace Bay. It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear beloved mother and grandmother on Thursday, April 14, 2005. Doris passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 75 after a courageous battle against cancer. She will be lovingly remebered by her sons Stephen (Charlotte), Michael (Debbie) and John (Liisa), daughters Helen McKILLOP, Carolin (Chris MARCUS) and Diane (Joe SIMMONS,) cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Jennifer, Kathryn, Justin, Andrew, Stephen, Heather, Sara, Cassandra, Joshua, Anne and Robin. Died peacefully at home, from kidney failure, with her family at her side, in Toronto on September 14, 2005, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas KEEN. Mother▲ of Christopher KEEN and his wife Susan COLES, Gregory KEEN, and Susan KEEN and her husband Craig SMITH. Loving▲ grandmother of Nicole and Colin KEEN. Sister▲ of the late Martin KENT, Kay McKILLOP and husband Sandy, Joan NORTON and husband Bill, and Marg SCOTT. Sister-in-law▲ of Helen BOGGILD. Fran▲ proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Later, she worked in special education at Brown and Jesse Ketcham public schools. She will be remembered for her strength, athleticism and lifelong interest in tennis and art. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the St. Michael's Hospital dialysis unit, as well as the numerous home care and palliative care workers who provided comfort and support. 78, Truro, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2005, at home, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel (DICKSON/DIXON) MALLOY. Yvonne graduated from the Halifax Children's Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Following graduation, Yvonne worked with the Dalhousie Public Health Clinic in tuberculosis research and also served as a private duty nurse for paediatric and adult patients. Yvonne was a dedicated Reach to Recovery Volunteer, Canadian Cancer Society, for over 25 years. Yvonne was a member of First United Church, Truro, a United Church Women member and assisted with the youth choir in the 1970's. A gracious, selfless and compassionate woman, Yvonne devoted herself to her family and her community. Graduate of MacDonald Institute in 1935 in dietetics; Drexel Institute of Technology, 1960; Ontario College of Education, 1963; Queen's University with B.A. in 1971; a champion rifle marksperson, World War 2 Red Cross volunteer ambulance driver, dietitian and home economics teacher. Always arduous, precise, adventuresome - a loving and gentle Mother and friend. You will always be remembered.

Passed away on December 25, 2005 at the age of 102. She was the wife of the late John E. McCREADY, daughter of the late Senator and former New Brunswick Premier Walter E. FOSTER and Johann FOSTER; predeceased by her daughters Barbara KAPPELE, Pamela MacDONALD and her two sisters Joan, Charlotte and brother Walter survived by her daughters Joan McCready McKIM (Tom) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Anne CAMPBELL (Ian) of Burlington, Ontario, and Carol TAKASAKI of Toronto, Ontario, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and was a life long resident of Rothesay, New Brunswick. Special thanks to Heather and Lynda, who have been so kind and caring.
