Of the Precious Blood Monastery in Hamilton, died the Feast of the Presentation of Mary, Monday, November 21st, 2005. In union with Jesus, and in a spirit of faith, she lovingly accepted her cross of suffering from recurring cancer. As she realized her time on earth was limited, it became very evident how much she was longing for eternal life...to be with the God she loved and served so faithfully. Sister Helen Aurelia was in her 90th year and 70th year of Religious Vows. Sister entered the Precious Blood Monastery in London in 1933 and was one of the Founding Members of the Peterborough Monastery at 83 Robinson St. Sister served our Congregation in various places and in responsible positions. She served as Superior, General Bursar, charge of Altar Bread Department and in the Secretary's Office where she became energized while responding to the needs of the people who contacted us for prayer. Her love and confidence in the Precious Blood of Jesus will continue to be a lasting inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed. Sister Helen Aurelia is predeceased by her parents Joseph James COMISKEY of Ingersoll and Mary Ellen MURPHY of Silverhill, Ontario; her brothers James, Bernard, Joseph and by her sisters Mary KEARNS, Mable▲▼ McMILLEN, Agnes McGUIFFIE and Sister Anne PATRICK, S.C.J. She is fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Betty and numerous nephews (especially Father John COMISKEY) and nieces. Veteran▼ of World War 2, serving overseas with the Elgin Regiment. He was a retired railway inspector and a life long member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Car Men. Robert passed away at Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday, February 22, 2005. Loving father of Susanne Edith MERRITT and her husband Gus and their children Victoria and Scott FELLOWS, Nelson▼ MERRITT and Leigh-Anne MERRITT. McMINN, Norwood
Passed away with his family by his side November 25th, 2005. Norwood was born and raised in Shallow Lake, Ontario. He worked on farms and sailed the Great Lakes until he joined the army in Italy, Belgium and Holland. He was frozen for six months after the war ended taking convoys into Germany and hauling goods back into Holland. After serving in the Army he took up blueprinting in boat building for 25 years. Norwood then went into business for himself. In 1948 he married Celena MORTON, they had two sons Leslie John and Steven Norwood, which blessed him with five granddaughters. Norwood strongly believed in the Legion and worked hard buying, renovating and organizing the Ladies Auxiliary for Branch 282 in Shallow Lake. Norwood was also a lifetime member and was the Sports Officer for Zone 6 for 2 years. In 1989 Norwood and Celena moved to British Columbia so they could spoil their granddaughters. He is a member of the Seniors 173 as well as Branch 24. In the last five years he was taken with Alzheimer's as well as Dementia. He spent the last five months in the good care of Valley Haven. He will be missed by family and Friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Vedder Golden Legion (Branch 280). If Friends so desire, donation can be made the the Alzheimer's Association or to Branch 280 of The Royal Canadian Legion. Arrangements in care of McLean's Funeral Services Ltd.

Passed away suddenly in his 66th year at Dartmouth General Hospital on January 22, 2005. Born in Scotland, he was the beloved husband and best friend of Fiona and dear father of Ewan. A Master Mariner by profession, Captain McMINN served in the Canadian Coast Guard for over 30 years, latterly as Director General of the Central Region. Cremation has taken place. Thoughtful grandmother of Chris BEATTY, Jennifer BEATTY, Owain BARKER and Clare BARKER; she provided them a lovely cottage for their early years.
