Sadly missed by son, Ian and his wife Nancy of Vancouver, by son Jay and his wife Cindy of Belleville and by daughter Margaret and her husband Ed McCONAGHAY of Minneapolis. Also▼ missed by grand_sons Burke and Bradley TELFER and John and David McCONAGHAY. John▼ is also mourned by his dear friend and companion, Margaret McCOLM. John▼ was born in Kinross, Scotland in 1920. He was a Royal Air Force Flight Lieutenant and Pilot during World War 2, serving for over 6 years in Europe, Canada and the Middle East. John emigrated to Canada in 1947 and enjoyed a successful career in industry, retiring in 1985 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Stackpole Limited. He never forgot his Scottish roots and loved to quote the Scottish poet Robbie Burns. John organized and participated in many celebrations of the poet's life. The family wishes to thank the Nurses of 'Care Partners', the staff of Ian Anderson House and most especially, John's▼ good friend Margaret McCOLM who cared for him so splendidly throughout his final illness. A service of remembrance will be held at St. Stephens-on the Hill United Church, 998 Indian Road, Mississauga on Oct.14 at 2: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Ian Anderson House or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Loving mother of the late Donna LOSSING (1982.) Iva will be sadly missed by a sister-in-law Alice JIBSON and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers George, Ray, Charles and Kenneth McCONKEY and a sister Pearl HOWEY. Born in Dereham Township on August 5, 1918 daughter of the late James and Anne (BUTLER) McCONKEY. Iva was very active in the community. She was a member of the Richmond United Church, the Richomd United Church U.C.W., St. Paul's United Church, the 49ers. Mary Jane (Jeanne) of Caressant Care Nursing Home, Saint Thomas on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at her late residence, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Michael MAZZUCA (Apr. 25, 1986) and dearly loved mother of Roland and his wife Lucy GROULX of Saint Thomas, Ronald and his wife Rose GROULX of London, Jacqueline and her husband Bob EMMETT of Saint Thomas, Lillian and her husband Jim McCONNELL of Hamilton and the late Jeanette HOBBINS. She▲ was the last of her family. Sadly missed by 23 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Hull, Quebec on March 24, 1912. She operated a restaurant in Timmins with her husband a number of years. Mary was a member of Holy Angels' Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Friday morning and then to Holy Angels' Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Born in London on February 2, 1920. Bill owned and operated Roberton's Furnishing for many years. In retirement, Bill was a valued member of the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home staff. In World War 2, Bill served overseas in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Sicily and North Africa from February 1940-1945 in the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church, Col. Talbot Br.#81 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the R.C.R. Assoc. and a former member of the Aylmer Cemetery Board and the Aylmer Optimist Club. In 1964 he travelled to Italy as an ambassador for the R.C.R. In 1994 he travelled on behalf of the Dept. of Veteran Affairs representing the Royal Canadian Regiments' pilgrimage celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the battle of Sicily and Italy. In 1994 Bill was Aylmer Senior Citizen of the Year and Aylmer Rotarian Citizen of the year and in 2003 he received the Queen's Jubilee Medal. Friends may call at the H.A. Born December 9th 1938 in Toronto, Ontario, Diane passed away peacefully on April 20th 2005 in Milton after a lengthy battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Ross McCONNELL of Georgetown. Diane will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses, Kathleen and Mark WRONSKI, Donna and Doug WEAVER and Alan McPHERSON and Irene MARINKO. As well as by her stepchildren and their spouses, David and Anne McCONNELL, Brian and Tina McCONNELL and Pam McCONNELL and Colin of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Grandsons Niall, Ben and Karson will hold fond memories of Nana in their heart. Cousin Jill McPHEE in the United Kingdom and devoted friend Wendy KNOWLES will remember all their good times together. Diane's lifelong love of the outdoors and horses led her to be involved in organizations such as the Ontario Trail Riders Assoc., the Ontario Equestrian Federation and the Ontario Trails Council. She was thrilled by the possibility of the Trans Canada Trail and contributed much towards its ultimate establishment. Diane and Ross worked together on many worthwhile events for the Rotary Club of Mississauga - City Centre. They also enjoyed summer trips together, especially with their spoiled pup, Freckles. BLAKE, Beatrice May
At the age of 95 and in complete peace, May BLAKE passed away on October 19, 2005. May was care-giver extraordinaire to many children who remember her fondly and with love throughout their adulthood. She was trained as a nanny in England and joined her first family as a caregiver as a young teenager, no older than 15. She emigrated to Canada about 1932. Throughout her early years as a nanny in Canada, May befriended and looked out for other British nannies who would come to Toronto on two-year visas to care for the children of Canadian families. May brought them into the community of other nannies, made sure that they became acquainted with Toronto and sent them home again at the end of two years with farewell parties.
The adults for whom she cared as children and that she called "her charges" owe their values of honesty, integrity, generosity towards others and good humour to her teachings as they grew from infancy through childhood into eventual maturity. May was always proud of the achievements of "her charges" and followed their successes in life, sending congratulations their way and still providing advice as they made their path through life.
May has been a staunch supporter of Saint Margaret's Anglican Church for more than 70 years. Up until two years ago, she was a regular supporter of Saint Margaret's annual Christmas bazaar and rummage sales. She was a frequent visitor to the sick and shut-ins of her congregation. May BLAKE's life was a happy and fulfilled one.
May will be fondly remembered by her many Friends at her Church, including Muriel CAESAR, Len and Jean SOUTH, Trevor and Muriel McCONNELL and Jean FRASER.
She will also be lovingly remembered by "her charges" currently living in Canada, Edward BULMAN and his sister Elizabeth, Nadine, Jon and Paul LEVIN, Sean and Kalen McCOWAN, Denise DELLIO, and Alexandra and Laura ROBINSON. Jean SHAWN, George LEVIN, Anna JOHNSTON (formerly McCOWAN), Perry and Rae DELLIO, Michael ROBINSON and Dr. Gail ROBINSON, and all remember the fine and loving care May BLAKE provided for their children and the tremendous contribution she made to their family life.

Margaret was born in Toronto and attended St. Mildred's, St. Hilda's and Havergal Schools. She completed her post secondary education at the University of Toronto (Trinity College) and graduated from Osgoode Hall. Margaret practiced corporate law in Toronto with the firm of Adams, Fraser, Smith and Shaver which later became Smith, Shaver.
Margaret enjoyed her work, Friends and family. She enjoyed her travels in Europe, particularily Venice.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Stewart and Buttonworks at Sunnyside for their loving care and compassion during Margaret's stay with them.
Margaret is survived by her cousins Donald SMITH, Frances McCONNELL, Roger and Gerald CRAWFORD and their families.
The service to celebrate Margaret's life and faith was held at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home Chapel, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. with Archdeacon Neil CARVER as celebrant. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.

After a gallant and courageous battle, the centre of our family has gone. To her husband Wallace Edward DOWNER, she was a beloved wife and life long best friend, whose wit and counsel will be daily missed. To her sons, Robert Wallace and Michael Edward, she was a fiercely loyal and loving mother. To her sisters, Jocelyn McCONNELL and Shiela METRAS, she was a support, a confidante and a girlfriend. For her grandchildren, Erica and Justin, she was a devoted and indulgent grandma. To her mother-in-law, Phyllis DOWNER, she offered love and generosity which was returned in full measure. Her attachment to family and Friends; her sense of humour, her joy in life and her unfailing loyalty endeared her to all and she will be missed by her many Friends. Her sense of caring and compassion served her admirably throughout her 38 year career as a nurse and administrator in Toronto area hospitals. Her former colleagues will also share in her loss. Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Peggy moved to Scarborough in 1965 and married Mike in 1966. Peggy spent most of her career working for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. She retired in 2001 and was happy to be able to spend more time at the cottage and with her granddaughter Amanda. An avid bowler and enthusiastic shopper and a highly accomplished navigator Peggy's sunny and social disposition won her many Friends and made her the heart of every family gathering. Peggy will be remembered by her generosity, her lively spirit and her love for her husband and children. Born▲ 1943, Collingwood, Ontario to Robert James SOULSBY and Edith Jeannette ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (deceased 2005.) Died, December 18th, 2005 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. After a gallant and courageous battle, the centre of our family has gone. To her husband Wallace Edward DOWNER, she was a beloved wife and life long best friend, whose wit and counsel will be daily missed. To her sons, Robert Wallace and Michael Edward, she was a fiercely loyal and loving mother. To her sisters, Jocelyn McCONNELL and Shiela METRAS, she was a support, a confidante and a girlfriend. For her grandchildren, Erica and Justin, she was a devoted and indulgent grandma. To her mother-in-law, Phyllis DOWNER, she offered love and generosity which was returned in full measure. Her attachment to family and Friends, her sense of humour, her joy in life and her unfailing loyalty endeared her to all and she will be missed by her many Friends. Her sense of caring and compassion served her admirably throughout her 38 year career as a nurse and administrator in Toronto area hospitals. Her former colleagues will also share in her loss. Memorial visitation will be held at the Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street, from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20th, 2005. Nana was the beloved grandmother of Christopher LEYBOURNE and wife Nikki and great-grandmother of Jenna and Theodore (Ted) LEYBOURNE. The family of Jacqueline Diane BRABANT (née DECOSTE,) with great sadness, must inform her many Friends and relatives that on Sunday, September 25th, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario, Jackie passed away. She was 73 years young. Remaining to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Francine and her husband Mike TENNANT of Toronto, Carole LEWIS of Brampton, Andree DECOSTE of Brampton, Helene and her husband Fred SALAZAR of Barrie. Her seven grandchildren, Jessica RIDGWELL, Jason SALAZAR, Christopher SALAZAR, Sarah TENNANT, Andrew SALAZAR, Madison EVOY, and David DECOSTE will forever remember their loving Mama. To her two great-granddaughters Kyra and Jada RIDGWELL, she was also Mama. Sadly she has left behind her two surviving brothers, Alcide and Rene DECOSTE of Montreal. Jackie was born in Glengarry, Ontario. She was the daughter of the late Raoul and Maxima DECOSTE. The youngest of eleven children, she grew up surrounded by seven brothers, two sisters, and lots of love. She went on to have five children of her own, which she raised in Toronto. Her only son, Michel BRABANT, predeceased her in 1972. She's probably with him right now. She loved to travel with her partner of 18 years Henry BEIFUSS, who predeceased her in 1988. Jackie moved to Barrie in 1996, she belonged to the Catholic Women's League at Saint Mary's Church, and was a volunteer at Royal Victoria Hospital. She was quite crafty at paper tolling, and loved her computer. The family wish to thank Dr. McCONVEY who went above and beyond his duties in the care and treatment of our mother. The staff of 3NB, with a special thank you to Lindsay, Glenda, and Marcia - you know what you did, and we thank you! Mom, we know you are happier where you are surrounded by all of your loving family, but we are sure going to miss you.
