Peacefully at Middlesex Terrace, Delaware on Thursday, March 3rd, 2005 Thomas "Tom" McCORD of London in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn McCORD. Dear father of Dianne MONTEITH and her husband Richard of London. Dear brother of Jean McCONNELL and the late Hume McCONNELL of Kemptville, Ontario. Tom will be remembered by his special Friends Sally and Opal LANE.
Tom was an art teacher for over 30 years at Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton. He studied at the Ontario College of Art under the guidance of Frank CARMICHAEL of the Group of Seven and continued his life passion of painting until his 90th year. Tom was active in Ryerson United Church in Hamilton for over 50 years. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service which will be conducted in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street, South, London on Monday. March 7th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Victor BROWN officiating. At Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday October 6, 2005. Richard (Dick) STRAWSON of Aylmer in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Pat (McKAY) STRAWSON. Dear father of Catherine BEARSS and husband Dan of Springfield, Donna STRAWSON and partner John FLORES of Toronto and Susan STRAWSON and partner Ewart JAMES- WALTERS of Kingston. Also survived by a special son Campbell McCORMACK of Cambridge. Loved by grandchildren Grant and Mitchiko, Andy and Jenn, Sue and Mike and Cheryl and Mike. Great grandchildren Samantha and Trevor, April, Julie, Rory, Sydney, Noah, Taylor, Cecilia and a great great grand_son Kale. Predeceased by a daughter Sandra CAMERON (2003) and a grand_son Howard CAMERON (2004.) Also survived by a brother Peter STRAWSON and his wife Marion of Thunder Bay. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on October 2, 1919, the son of the late Richard and Catherine (FRASER) STRAWSON. Richard started his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia and remained there until he moved back to Thunder Bay with his new wife Pat and joined the Port Arthur Police Force in 1941. He was quickly promoted to detective and reached the rank of Inspector of Detectives until he became an Instructor at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario in 1967. Richard retired from the Police College in 1978 and focused on his love for organic gardening, herbal medicines and reading. At his request Richard has been cremated and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. H.A. Andrew was born in Saint Thomas on July 11, 1921, the son of the late Cuthbert and Janet (RITCHIE) McCORMICK. He was retired Executive Director for the Association for Community Living (22 years of service) and prior worked for the C. and O. Railroad as a machinist and had worked at Clevite. Andy was a member of Saint Anne's Church, The Knights of Columbus and Golden "K" Kiwanis and was a former member of the Senior Men's Curling Club. He served in the Army during World War 2 and he was a musician and played the drums in groups including the Leisure Tones. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Friday and then to Saint Anne's Church for Mass of the Christian Burial at 1: 00 p.m. Interment in Holy Angels' Cemetery. It is with great sadness that Marjory McPHERSON and Maxine BORLAND announce the sudden passing of their mother, Christene (INNES) McPHERSON on March 28, 2005, at the age of eighty. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madison BORLAND to whom she was devoted, and her dear son-in-law Scott BORLAND. She was predeceased by her loving and beloved husband Russell Mack McPHERSON in 1974. Chris was the youngest child of John and Christie (McINTOSH) INNES of Embro. She was predeceased by two brothers, James (in infancy) and Albert, and three sisters, Marjory LAWRENCE, Ivy McCORMICK and Olive CHALKLEY. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and their families, who will miss "the Matriarch".
Chris was a legal secretary for many years before becoming employed by the former Township of North Dorchester, as Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Upon her retirement she continued her involvement with the Municipality, from 1988 to 1994. First as Deputy Reeve and then by acclamation to Reeve. She was involved for many years with the Central Board of the Dorchester United Church, was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Donnybrook Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 513, and served on the board of directors of the London Middlesex Children's Aid Society for 1988 to 1994 and the Peel Region Board of Children's Air Society from 1994-1997. Chris had taken a keen interest in politics at all levels. She also loved music from a very early age. At Chris's request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Dorchester United Church, 4100 Catherine St. Dorchester on Thursday, March 31, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Art CHOLMONDELEY officiating. If desired donations to the Dorchester United Church or to the Children's Aid Society of Middlesex London would be very much appreciated by the family. Clem▼ was the devoted husband of Ruth BROMLEY (née McCORMICK) married for 42 loving years. Dear father of Keith BROMLEY of Sharon, Ontario and Donna CLINE of London, Ontario. Also two stepsons, Mike COLES of Port Rowan and Donald COLES of Belvedere, Illinois. Clem was the loving grandfather of three. "Grandpa Clem" will also be missed by nine other grandchildren from extended family as well as nieces and nephews.
Clem was a valued resident of Tillsonburg. He was elected to Town Council for three consecutive terms and was a member of the Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital Board. Clem was responsible for bringing the Mastico factory to Tillsonburg. After in-depth research over many other towns, Tillsonburg was chosen for the site. He oversaw the purchasing of the property as well as the building process assuming the position of General Manager until retirement in 1972. Clem was also a life member of the Patricia Masonic Lodge out of Toronto and belonged to Saint Mary's Anglican Church in Westmeath, Ontario. At Clem's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation a Memorial Service will take place Thursday, June 2nd at 1: 30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church in Tillsonburg. Beloved son of the late Lorne and Madeline (Vollett) LINCE. Dear brother of Sandra HEIMPEL and Keith of Eden, Ruth Ann STEVENS and John of Saint Marys, Loreen KNOTT and Robert of Stratford, Dennis LINCE of Edmonton, Steven LINCE of Saint Marys and Cheryl McCORQUODALE and Paul SHILLOLO of Stratford. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel, 7 Water St. N., Saint Marys on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at 1: 30 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Richard BOTT officiating. Passed away at North Bay on Sunday, June 26, 2005, in his 83rd year. Fraser was the cherished husband and best friend of Alice BRILLON (BOND). Loving father of Arlene PRIMROSE (Brian), Barbara SNEDDEN (Ken,) Gordon FARLINGER and survived by their mother Lois, all of New Liskeard. Loving step-father of Ward BOND (Carol) of Collingwood, Kathryn ROBERTS (James) of Cookstown and Jonathan BOND (Tamara) of Kenora. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ryan, Kimberley, Sarah, Alex, Stephanie, Charlie, Nathan and Avery. Fraser was predeceased by his parents Dr. A.C. FARLINGER and the former Sara J. McCORQUODALE, also by his brother Don (survived by his wife Diane.) Dear brother of Mary ROWE and Jane REEVES (Bob.) Dr. FARLINGER graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in 1948. He practiced medicine in New Liskeard for 28 years and moved to North Bay in 1975 to work at the North Bay General Hospital as an Anaesthetist until his retirement in 1988. Survived by her beloved brother Malcolm (Mickey) MacCORQUODALE, her daughters Susan Shepherd and Kim RAK, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Angus, Florence, Rachel, Archie, Ian and Donald. At Helen's request, there will not be a service. Cremation. A forty-four year resident of Bramalea, passed away on October 6th, 2005, at Peel Memorial Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Robert for fifty years. Proud mother of Lynn and Jeremy ALDERTON, Laurie and Doug McCORRISTON, Rob and Sue ALLISON, Russell ALLISON and Bev DESROCHES. Much loved grandmother of Tyler, Allison, Samantha, Callan, Jacob, Joshua, Connor, and James. Predeceased by her brother Alec CARR. She will be greatly missed by Jean and Gerald NEIL, Ruth TRAINOR, John PERROTT, Michelle HARWOOD and many nieces and nephews. Among her many accomplishments was being the first female president of the Chinguacousy Girls Minor Softball Association, an original owner of CVC Courier, a great friend to many, who was well known for her strength, generosity and sense of humour. We are all better off for having known her. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
