He is survived by his second wife Lidia, Toronto; 3 children 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his first wife Aina, Oakville. Extended family members live in Canada, U.S.A., Latvia, and Sweden. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the "Building Fund," Runnymede Healthcare Centre, 625 Runnymede Rd., Toronto M6S 3A3.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lydia ZICHMANIS on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the age of 88, at her home. She will be fondly remembered by her stepchildren Zile, Klavs and Laima along with their families and will be greatly missed by all who loved her, especially her dearest and long time friend Mara SERBIN and God Daughter Cindy FLEMING/FLEMMING. Lydia was completely devoted to her beloved husband Manfreds who sadly passed away March 2, 2005 at the age of 93. They were unable to keep apart for very long and we are comforted in the knowledge that they are now eternally together. "Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one." May they rest in peace. A private memorial will be held in the summer at the time of interment.

At age 52 she graduated as an R.N.A. and worked until retirement at St. Joseph's and University Hospitals. Born in Aylmer, Ontario on November 14, 1922, the son of the late William Ross and Doris Anita (SMYTHE) PIERCE. Dr PIERCE was a retired Colonel and he served for 37 years in the Dental Corp of the Canadian Army. During the last five years of his service he was appointed Queen's Honourary Dentist. We raised a family with love and joy-two beautiful girls and a handsome boy. In turn they gave us three Grandchildren to love, It seemed that our Happiness was never enough. Then came the time when you got ill; You didn't want to leave us, with your strong will. But, one day you left our midst, Leaving me in sorrow-save for the kids. Those were the hours and days I will never forget; Now I stare at the empty spot on our bed. It's the memories that keep me strong, I know what happened to you was wrong. A long time resident of the Kingsway, Violet died, peacefully, after a lengthy illness. Violet was predeceased by her beloved husband John Francis BLACK, and her sister Marie ZILLIAX. Deeply loved mother of Paul (Joyce) and Peter (Elsie). Cherished Grandmother of Gregory (Linda), John (Mandy), the late Raymund, Paul (Sheelagh), Stephanie, Catherine, Philip (Carole), and Robert (Robin). Violet was the beloved Great-Grandmother of Jane, Emma, Justin, Samantha, Devin, Alec, Peter, Andrew, Michael, and Aidan. She will also be missed by her niece Joy HEIMPEL, and her many other nieces and nephews. Erich was born in Germany to August and Marie (MAYER) ZILLIGES. He immigrated to Canada with his family in the early 50's, and worked as a mason in Sarnia most of his life. Erich and Friedhilde retired to the home they built at Colpoy's Bay. Their last years were spent near family in the Sarnia area. We continue to treasure the wonderful memories we all share. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Cremation to follow. Bob, who was born May 27, 1944, has finally and with great joy joined his birth mother Naomi Payne DENNISCHUCK, as well as his beloved parents Anne and Bill MORRISON.
