Irene
Passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, September
29th, 2005. Irene is lovingly remembered by her brother Norman.
She was predeceased by her dear father John (1978) and her cherished
mother Annie (1995). Irene enjoyed a stellar career at the Toronto
Star for 44 years and 8 months. She will long be remembered for
her fabulous sense of humour and for the many lives that she
enhanced. She was one in a million. A private family service
has been held. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers, to the
Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully accepted. Rest
in Peace Renee

loved ones at St. Joseph's Health Centre, on Thursday, August
11, 2005 at the age of 79. Cherished father of Terenia and her

Paul died peacefully at his home in Bucharest after a year long
illness on February 20, 2005 in his eighty-first year. Paul,
born in Bucharest on June 18, 1924, was the only
son of Radu
and Mariette
LAPTEV. He is survived by his son and daughter Cotty
and Maria LAPTEV, their spouses Stasia
LAPTEV (née

Andreas
KALMAR, and their mother Elizabeth
LAPTEV.
Paul became a grandfather
to Carolina
LAPTEV on December 3, 2000, and was well enough to
enjoy her, briefly, prior to his illness. A memorial gathering
will take place in Bucharest today, followed by a cremation.
