ERDELYI,
Andras "
Bondi"
(April 6, 1927-September 19, 2005)
The life of Andras "Bondi"
ERDELYI ended peacefully on Monday,
September 19, 2005 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's
disease. Born in Eger, Hungary in 1927, Andras immigrated to
Canada in 1950 and began his new life by working in the forestry
industry in Northern Ontario. Andras next moved on to Montreal
where he was married to Rosaline in 1957. It was in Montreal
where their first two sons, Andrew and Brian were born. They
eventually settled in Toronto where they welcomed their third
son David, as Andras began a long and very successful career
in the insurance industry. This culminated in the creation of
The Andras Erdelyi Award of Excellence which was established
by The Sovereign Life Assurance Company. Andras' favourite times
were spent surrounded by family and Friends. He had a love of
good food and good times and his enjoyment of both will be sorely
missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Predeceased
by his first wife Rosaline (1994), and his eldest son, Andrew
(1974). Andras is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette, his
sons Brian and David and daughters-in-law Carol and Caroline
and is the loving grandpa to Ryan, Kristen and Lauren; Andrew
and Devyn. He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth, Marika
and Rosika, in Hungary. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter
Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane
subway, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Mass will
be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church (corner of Earl and Sherbourne
St.), Toronto, on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 10: 30 a.m. Interment
