COOK, Reta Winnifred
Passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late J. Arthur COOK (1990.) Loving mother of Charlene (Larry) MORSE, Brian (Joyce) COOK and the late Dennis COOK (1996.) Daughter-in-law Faye SLATTER. Cherished grandmother of Chantelle (Scott) VADER, Tanya COOK, Jeff (Terri) COOK, Nathan COOK, Joe COOK, Shanna COOK and great-grandchildren Caleb COOK and Brinley VADER. Predeceased by one grand_son Jason MORSE (2005.) Dear sister of Dorothy TAILOR/TAYLOR, Alberta ESLER, Marilyn (Fred) NICHOLSON, Jim (Loreen) KNOTT, Don KNOTT, Bob (Lillian) KNOTT, Dave (Hedda) KNOTT, Bill (Bonnie) KNOTT and the late George KNOTT. Reta will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and their families. The family will receive Friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London, for a Funeral Service on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to service. BROWN, Robert Francis " Bob"
On April 18, 2005, at Saint Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Kingston, Ontario, in his 89th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Audrey (née ESLER,) beloved father of Carol CAMPBELL (Neil,) Robert Francis Jr. (Shirley), and Annie BRADLEY (Richard), and well loved stepfather of Deborah Savage TYLER (Rob.) Greatly missed by his grandchildren Claire, Neil, William, and Nicholas and by his dear cousins, Charles and Stewart BROWN. Robert was born in Montreal on December 24, 1916. In his youth he attended Lower Canada College, St. Andrew's College, and McGill University. In 1939 he enlisted in #1 Squadron (City of Westmount Squadron). Pilot Officer BROWN served as a Hurricane pilot with 115f Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force in England. After the war, Robert studied hotel management at Cornell University, and in 1950 he opened Hovey Manor, a country inn on Lake Massawippi in North Hatley, Quebec. He owned and managed "Hovey" until his retirement in 1979, but Hovey Manor remains today one of the preeminent resort hotels in Canada. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and volunteers of Kingston General Hospital and of the palliative care unit of Saint Mary's of the Lake Hospital. A memorial service will take place in North Hatley at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Barnabas Anglican Church in North Hatley. Passed away at Headwaters Hospital, Orangeville on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband John F. (Mike) TIGH. Dear sister of Ainslie WYSE of Toronto and Eleanor ANDERSON of England. Predeceased by her brothers Gerald and Peter ESLING. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and Friends. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter "Butler" Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street, W. Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Aves) from 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. Cremation.
