LENNAN, Dorothy " Dot" (née CARROTHERS)
"Heaven has just become richer as Dorothy "Dot" LENNAN has been received into Heaven with love, after a long, courageous battle with cancer". Dorothy died at Bluewater Health Norman Street Site, Sarnia on December 5, 2005 at the age of 84. Dorothy was an Audit Supervisor at Sears for 25 years, was president of the Sarnia Pilot Club and was a volunteer at Bluewater Health, Norman Street Site, for 12 years. She was also involved in the Relay for Life, was a valued member of the Women's Missionary Society, volunteered with Community Living at Wawanosh Enterprises and was an active member of Laurel Lea-St. Matthews Church. Dorothy met the challenges of her illness with much love and altruism. God sent angels to care for Dorothy in the persons of the very caring and concerned nurses of Palliative Care, until God was ready for her. Loving and devoted wife for 63 years of Roy E. "Bonnie" LENNAN. Loving mother of Cheryl and Barry HOWSON of Sarnia, Daryl and Faye LENNAN of Bright's Grove and Cindy DOUMA of Guelph. Dear grandmother of Paula LIPPIATT (Seth,) Sean MELLIS (Jeannette,) Gillian EXLEY (Stephen,) Micheline McEWAN (Mike,) David HOWSON (Dina), Bryan HOWSON (Lani), Kristin LENNAN, Kyle LENNAN, Dara DOUMA (Joel), Bianca AZZOPARDE (Jamie), Aaron DOUMA (Janice) and Michaela DOUMA. Much loved Nana of 12 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Pearl CARROTHERS and brothers Kenneth and Fred and survived by a sister-in-law Laurena CARROTHERS. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. at Laurel Lea-St. Mathews Church, 837 Exmouth Street, Sarnia. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Thursday afternoon from 3: 30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sympathy through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Laurel Lea-St. Mathews Church, or the Bluewater Health Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family. FISHER, Margaret Anne " Marnie" (née GILMOUR)
Died peacefully on Monday, August 22nd, 2005 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, of complications following cardiac surgery. Marnie was the elder daughter of the late George and Dorothy GILMOUR of Hamilton. She leaves an adoring and devoted husband David; loving children Lynne, Richard and Andy; daughters-in-law Shelley FISHER and Jill DUNKLEY; granddaughter Gwyneth FISHER sister Gwen LAURIE and her husband Jack; nephew Craig BOWIE niece Joan EXLEY and her husband Jon; great nieces Kate and Tessa EXLEY; other family members in Canada; David's family in the United Kingdom; and many dear Friends. An exemplary person, universally admired, Marnie will be remembered for her selflessness, generosity, sense of duty, easy laughter, graciousness, open mind, and love of learning. She and David shared a love of mountains and the outdoors, undertaking many memorable adventures together, the last in the months just before her death. Marnie faced the possibility of death with great equanimity, expressing gratitude for the blessing of a rich and full life. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cardiac Care at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria. The family wishes to express its appreciation of the care given to Marnie by the doctors and nurses in the Cardiac Care and Emergency Departments at the Hospital.
