Of South River. Suddenly in South River on Monday, December 19, 2005, in his 79th year. Donald IVENS, beloved husband of Jean IVENS of South River. Loving father of Doug IVENS (Pearl) of Toronto, Grant IVENS (JoAnn) of Stouffville and Diana IVENS of Picton. Cherished grandfather of Darren, Valery, Trevor, Laura and Alana. Dear brother of Bill IVENS (Isobel) of Bolsover and Cliff IVENS of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Margaret (HANSON) IVENS, sister Margaret, brothers Jack and Gordon. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and his many Friends in the area. The late Mr. Donald IVENS will rest at the Chalmers United Church, Ottawa Street, South River on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted at the Chalmers United Church on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. with Pastor Brenda MacMAIN officiating. Cremation following the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the South River Food Bank would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Born February 11th, 1922, died on May 31st, 2005 in Tallinn, Estonia on a cruise. He leaves to mourn his beloved Joyce (IVERSEN- FAIR,) who shared his life for twenty-four wonderful years, his children Jane, David (Mary,) Louise (Bob GOODWIN) and their mother Betty, his daughter Helen (Reg NORBY.) He will be missed by grandchildren, Jennifer Jacqueline and Luke BRUNET, Katie and Michelle GOODWIN, Joshua and Olivia NORBY. Beloved stepfather to Jannet (Warren WHITEHEAD), Kathleen FAIR, Pamela (Mike CURTIS) and Heather (Grant PENTON) and his cherished step-grandchildren, David JASON, Ted and Zach FAIR- GOGEK, Carter, Torie, Jill WHITEHEAD and Anna LEE- CURTIS. Author of numerous research articles, published in the Ontario Medical Association and Canadian Medical Association Journals, relating to the benefits of pulsed electromagnetic therapy. Dr. FENN was also the owner and operator of the first licensed private hospital in Toronto, the Institute of Traumatic, Plastic and Restorative Surgery. Through the years Dr. FENN was associated with St. Michael's Hospital, Wellesley Hospital, Grace Hospital, O and A Hospital and the Institute of Traumatic, Plastic and Restorative Surgery, and he also donated professional services on an international level for several years. Loving mother of son Paul (Maureen) and daughter Elsie (Frank IVERSON.) Cherished grandmother of Jody (Ben CHONG,) Lisa (Trevor WOODS,) Christopher (Karen), Kimberley and Karen IVERSON. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren Abbigayle and Nathan WOODS, Dylan and Charlotte PANTO, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 50 years, Ron JACKLIN; 3 daughters Pat SMALE and husband Bob of Crampton; Karen JENNINGS and husband Ralph of Vienna; and Brenda MILLER and husband Ed of Aylmer. Beloved grandmother of Jennifer and Dawn SMALE, Diane and Craig JENNINGS and Adam and Amanda MILLER. Born on March 6, 1935 at Saint Mary's Road, P.E.I., Laura was one of 12 children. Born in Caledonia, on December 26, 1911, daughter of the late Mina Beatrice (CAREY) and Mason Grey IVEY, she worked for the Sydenham District Hospital for many years. She will be sadly missed by: a daughter Patricia Ann EASTMAN and her husband Wilfred of Mooretown; 2 grandchildren, Cathy and Scott JACKLIN of Petrolia and David and Jacqueline BURROWS of Sarnia, 4 great-grandchildren, Megan, Cassie, Julie and Jason ("Nana we loved you") and a sister Marion MALM of Chatham. A sister Bertha IVEY, and 2 brothers, Robert and John IVEY, predecease her. FRENCH, Iris Helena (née IVEY)
Peacefully at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, on Saturday, July 30, 2005 after a long battle with Alzheimer's in her 88th year. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Helena IVEY. She was a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto and Queens University, Kingston. She was the beloved wife of Goldwin FRENCH and mother of Charles (Cambridge, England) and Allison (Chatham, Ontario). She worked for many years in the Toronto Public Library and Mills Memorial Library at McMaster University. An outstanding pianist who gave occasional recitals and was a keen participant in Chamber Music Groups. She enjoyed orchestral concerts and became a skillful watercolour artist. In mid career, she learned to swim and was always happy in the pool or the nearest lake with warm water. She did not seek publicity but was happy to share good food and good wine. She will be greatly missed by many dear Friends. Friends may call at the Marlatt Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Thursday 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services in the Marlatt Dundas Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Grove Cemetery, Dundas.
