It is with great sadness and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and aunt, peacefully, on Friday, October 7, 2005, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, in her 85th year of life, joining her husband Mychailo (February 13, 1989). Longtime resident of 138 Geoffrey Street for 45 years. The sixth of eight of Teodor JAWORSKY and Ksenia MALYMIN, predeceased by her eldest sister Mary SOROKOLIT (1982) and younger brother Walter JAWORSKY (2003.) She is survived by her children Anna and Peter WOLOSZANSKYJ and Stefanie TRACHUK; her grandchildren Danylo, Larysa, Cassandra and Roman; nephews Dr. Walter SOROKOLIT and Dr. Bob SOROKOLIT (Texas), Theo JAWORSKY and Roman JAWORSKY and their families; cousins in Canada, U.S.A., France, Poland and Ukraine. She will be fondly remembered by her Godchildren, Oksana PROCIUK, Mary JAKYMIW, Gloria DEMBORYNSKY, Sylvia CHAMBUL, Valentina WITINZEN and Bohdan SMERETSKY. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital-I.C.U. and 6M, and at Copernicus Lodge, especially the caregivers on the sixth floor. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2005 in his 97th year at Kensington Gardens in Toronto. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy SHIZUYE. He will be greatly missed by his son Ron and his wife Judy and by his grandchildren Drew and his wife Jennifer, Scott and his wife Ruth, and Sara and her partner Chad JOHNSON. Also missed by his special extended family members, Bill and Masako IWAMOTO, Yoshie YAMASHITA, Janet and Ron WERNER, Nancy YAMASHITA, Ken, Colette and Kevin YAMASHITA, and Jerry, Denise, Colleen, Wendy and Alexander YAMASHITA. He will be remembered for his inquiring mind, gentle character, and devoted care to his wife. Photography was a great passion, and we will be reminded by his many photos of the role he played in our lives. In his love of life, ability to forgive, and spirituality, he was an exemplar to all that knew him. Our thanks to all the staff in 4 Oxford West at Kensington Gardens, and to Dr. B. Peacefully at Craiglee Nursing Home, in her 85th year, on December 12, 2005. Beloved wife of Masakazu IZUMI, sister of Sumi IWAMOTO, mother of the late Alan IZUMI (Karen HUGHES,) Susan IZUMI (Alan KING) and Lynne (David) EVANS. She is sadly missed by her grandchildren, Corey IZUMI (Lindsay LEE) and Kristin IZUMI, her great-grandchild Blake IZUMI, all her grand-nephews and nieces, and our family's special friend, Sharon GLESS. She is fondly remembered by her many Friends at her church and in her neighbourhood. Resting at the Paul O'Conner Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. Dear father of Randy KEECH and his wife Deb of Merlin, Cheryl KUYVENHOVEN and her husband Peter of Spruce Grove, Alberta, and Michael KEECH of London. Grandfather of Kim, P.J. and Jo Jo KUYVENHOVEN and Jesse and Katie KEECH. Brother of Mary MacDOUGALL of Chatham, Bill and Donna KEECH of Chatham, Charlie and Mick KEECH of Glencoe and the late Peg COOPER and Gwen SINCLAIR. It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Wasyl IWANYTZKYJ on August 27, 2005 in Lviv, Ukraine. Dearly beloved husband and soul-mate of Natalie BUNDZA- IWANYTZKYJ, (predeceased by Dr. Lydia MAKARUCHA- IWANYTZKYJ, M.D. 1972 Buenos Aires.) He leaves behind to mourn his wife, Natalie, daughters Danusia (Toronto), Lesia and Orysia and families (Buenos Aires), sisters-in-law, Halia BUNDZA (Toronto) and Vera OLYNYK (Andrew) London, Ontario and family, and relatives in Ukraine. Dr. IWANYTZKYJ was born in Demycze, Ukraine, studied at the Lviv and Warsaw Universities where he received his Doctorate of Economics. He was a man of remarkable vision who devoted his entire life to the formation of a free and independent Ukraine. Through his unyielding determination to promote national consciousness, monuments to the Bard of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko, today stand in Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay, Harvard University, U.S. and in Ukraine in Lviv, Luhansk, Ostrokh, Sevastopol (Crimea) and currently to be erected in Yalta. In Buenos Aires Dr. IWANYTZKYJ was a long-serving National President of the Ukrainian Central Representation of Argentina. He was the founding member of the Shevchenko Foundation in Buenos Aires, and initiated the establishment of a Ukrainian Cemetery in Monte Grande. Dr. IWANYTZKYJ sponsored Ukrainian radio programming from Uruguay, numerous publications in Spanish Ukrainian and through his incentive, cultural events of international flavour in many theatres including the Colon Opera House. During the last decade, his energy was geared to the education of youth in Ukraine by supplying over 500 schools throughout the country with computers and technical equipment. A firm believer of higher learning, he not only supplied Ostrokh University and technical colleges with much needed office equipment, computers, facsimiles etc., he also equipped schools in small forgotten towns and villages. An honourary order was bestowed on Dr. IWANYTZKYJ by the President of Ukraine (1997) and by the World Congress of Free Ukrainians of which he was the Vice-President and co-founder in 1967. He was an honourary citizen of Lviv, Ukraine and was intered on August 29, 2005, at the historically renown Lichakivsky Cemetery in Lviv. It was an honour and privilege to be a part of your life and we shall miss you dearly. And yes, my darling, you were mostly always right! May his memory be eternal! Vichnaya pamyat! A memorial service (40th day) for Dr. IWANYTZKYJ will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, 11: 00 a.m. at St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 110 Franklin Avenue, Toronto. In memory of Dr. IWANYTZKYJ, donations for the completion of the Taras Shevchenko monument in Yalta are very much appreciated.
