Passed away in Melville Gardens Halifax on January 17, 2005,
at age 97. She was the loving mother to Dr. Alan (Louise), Burlington,
Ontario; Willis (Nancy), Ottawa, Ontario; special grandmother
of Elizabeth

(Kristina,) all of Burlington, Ontario, Katharine

and Heather, both of Ottawa, Ontario, Michael (Judith), Halifax.
Known to her great-grandchildren as "G.G.", she will be missed
by all of them: Diana, Alan, and Robin

She is survived by her brother,
Alan (Helen), Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She was predeceased
by her husband, Ralph "Rad"; sisters, Margaret, Gerda and Hilda
brother, Harry. She had a special relationship with her daughters-in-law,
Louise and Nancy, and all of her family and Friends. She was
born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, educated there, as
well as at Edgehill School for Girls, Dalhousie University (B.A.
1927) and U. of T. (M.A. 1931) and she had lived in Halifax since
1933. She served a term as Dalhousie Alumni Representative on
the Dalhousie Board of Governors, she was involved with Saint John
Ambulance and for many years was a member of the Auxiliary of
the Halifax Children's Hospital
(IWK
Health
Centre.)
She was
vibrant, generous and caring. A service to celebrate her remarkable
life will be held on Saturday, January 22, at 1 p.m. in Melville
Gardens, 11 Ramsgate Lane, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, a memorial
donation may be considered for the

Health
Centre, 5850 University
Ave.; Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 6136 Almond
Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3K 1T8 or for a charity of your choice.
