Suddenly, on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Toronto East General Hospital in her 90th year. Ayako, beloved wife of the late Noboru G. TAHARA. She will be sadly missed by her children Marjorie Izumi and her late husband Ken, Aileen CHIBA and her late husband Roy, Pauline Naomi and her husband Toivo KNUDE. Sister of Hideko, Yonekura (Harry), Yoshiye Mary SUYAMA (Kunio), and the late Kiyoko SHIMANO (Jim,) Isamu OMORI and his surviving spouse Tamako. Sister-in-law of Dorothy TAHARA and her late husband Mamoru. Loving Bachan of Steve (Deb), Karen (Greg), Linda (C.J.), Craig, Blair, Tiiu. Hi-bachan of Nathaniel, Elijah, Uriah, Khaleel, Jaden and Tyler. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and Friends. Visitation at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., Scarborough (between St. Clair Ave. E. and McCowan Ave.) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Service on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. at the Toronto Buddhist Church (918 Bathurst Street, north of Bloor St). Committal Service and Cremation to follow on Monday morning.

AUCKLAND, E. Irene (née HICKS)
Formerly of Talbotville, passed away at her residence, Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, Saint Thomas, on Friday, September 16, 2005, in her 98th year. Wife of the late Ralph AUCKLAND (1972.) Mother of Lorne S. AUCKLAND and his wife Charmaine of Saint Thomas. Grandmother of Dorinda VOEGTLE and her husband David, and Darrel AUCKLAND and his wife Karen, and great-grandmother of Cassandra and Jayson VOEGTLE, and Terri Lynn and Devon AUCKLAND, all of Saint Thomas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by two sisters, Vera MEEK and Lela KNUDSEN. Born in Southwold Twp., Ontario, August 21, 1908, daughter of the late Herbert and Letitia (SMITH) HICKS. Mrs. AUCKLAND was a member of Talbotville United Church where she was the organist for many years and was a lifelong member of the Paynes Mills Women's Institute. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday followed by interment in the Saint Thomas Cemetery, West Avenue. Memorial donations to the charity of one's choice gratefully acknowledged.

Peacefully at his home in Jackson's Point on Sunday, June 12th, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Harry KNUDSEN beloved husband of Ulla (née MADSEN.) KNUDSEN, O. Craig
Passed away, at his residence, on October 5, 2005, his 86th birthday, after a life full of love and adventure. Craig is survived by his wife Maria of 57 years, his daughter Mary VITALE, sons Paul (Charlene), Robert (Peggy), and eight grandchildren, Julie, Matthew, Trish, Laura, Leslie, Eric, Nicole and Kristen. Craig also leaves his sisters Lenora (Lloyd) LILLICO and Margaret (Jack) BULFORD, brother Bob (Marion) KNUDSEN. Brothers Frank and Jack (Stella) predeceased him. A Veteran of World War 2, Craig was stationed in the Faroe Islands, where he met Maria POULSEN, while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force - Radar Division, and returned to marry her four years later. Craig worked for the Department of National Defense and retired in 1979 after 28 years of service. Craig, a husband, father and grandfather was the glue that kept his family and Friends close and will be dearly missed. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street (two lights south of Steeles), North York, between 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, followed by interment in York Cemetery. Golfer born in Winnipeg on June 28, 1937. Introduced to the sport at a country club in his hometown, he took his new interest to Toronto where he concentrated on improving his swing. Soon, he was a top-flight amateur. In 1958, he decided to try the pro circuit and won about 10 events. Over the years, he racked up an impressive list of wins and in 1969 finished second by one stroke in the masters. In 1988, he published The Natural Golf Swing, a book he said showed how anyone could master his technique. He was made a member of the Order of Canada and returned to play on the U. S. Senior Professional Golfers' Association tour. He was forced to retire because of illness and died of cancer.

Cherished grandfather of 2 granddaughters, 5 grand_sons and 1 great-grand_son. Chuck was born in Truro, Nova Scotia. He served in World War 2 as a member of an Royal Canadian Air Force Squadron in Burma (Myanmar). Chuck and Elena together served as missionaries in Bolivia for many years with New Tribes Mission reaching the tribal people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
