Of Saint Marys, suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on December 22, 2005 at the age of 78. Dear son of the late William and Elsie BLACKLER. Beloved husband of 54 years to Verna (STACEY.) Loving father of Philip and Cathy, Wendy AITKEN and Ron, Robert and Fran, Jayne MOLLAND and Jim NAU and David and Sylvia. Proud grandfather of Jessica, Alia, Lindsay, Matthew, Rory, Robin, Deidre, Dustin, Wesley, Cody, Joshua and Brandon. Beloved brother of Doris and Les FAIRBAIRN, Alice and Harold HENRY and brother-in-law to Doreen STACEY, Oliver and Ann STACEY, Emma and John CARRUTHERS, Laura SHAW, Carman STACEY and Audrey and Louis SANCHEZ. Predeceased by brother-in-law Ray STACEY. Burns was an involved and active member of many associations in the community and in the field of agriculture. Sadie passed away peacefully on a sunny Sunday, October 30th, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. She would have been 91 years next week. Dearly devoted wife to Irving BAUMAN/BOWMAN for the last 71 years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law to Eric and Penny BAUMAN/BOWMAN, Gina and Paul GODFREY. She was known as beloved Bubba Sadie to Shmuel, Minda, Mark, Beth, Rob, Noah and Jay. She is survived by her brother Michael NAUGHTON and predeceased by her siblings Max, Mick, Joe, Jack and Roslyn. She will be sadly missed by her loving caregiver, Edith DALISAY and the nurses on the third floor of Baycrest Centre. Funeral services at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Avenue West on Monday, October 31st at 2 p.m. Interment at Bathurst Lawn Cemetery, Adath Sholom/BethTikvah Section. Shiva will be held at 44 Arjay Crescent, evenings only up to and including Thursday, November 3rd. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Harvey, of forty-two years; her children: John (Valerie) and Catherine (Mike) CAHOON grandchildren: Natasha, Mitchell, Mercedes, and John; sister Jane NAUGLER; nephew Sandy NAUGLER; and by many other relatives and Friends. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred McMaster LAIRD and Mercedes Anita LAIRD.
