Passed away on the morning of June 17th 2005 peacefully after
an incident of coronary arrest surrounded by his family. Cherished
husband of Rosemary Anne and father of Martha (Doug), Michael
(Rachel), Christopher (Penny), Cynthia, Joseph (Leisa). Granddaughters
Oona, Clara and Narah. Honored grandfather to Brandon (Sandra),
Devon and Nyomi. He was predeceased by his brother Richard and
his sister Clara Barbara and his parents Joseph and Doris
SMITH.
Eric was born in Montreal in 1926 and attended Lower Canada College
and McGill University. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy
but never saw service as the war ended. He married Rosemary Anne
O'REILLY in 1953 and began working for Ronalds Printing, later
becoming Vice President (sales) of Ronalds-Federated Inc. which
became British Columbia Publitech. An avid yachtsman he was Commodore
of the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club from 1967 to 1969 and later
volunteered as an instructor with the Montreal and Toronto Power
Squadrons. He was transferred to Toronto in 1985 and retired
to Kingston in 1989. He served on the Board of the Kingston Maritime
Museum and the Kingston General Hospital Foundation, taught computer
skills to seniors and volunteered his time enthusiastically.
The family's heartfelt thanks go to the Intensive Care Unit of
the Kingston General Hospital. The family will recieve Friends

Tom was a retired long-time Consumers Gas employee, avid
golfer, Blue Jays fan and armchair supervisor. Fortunately, he
stayed with us long enough to be surrounded by his family on
Sunday for a great Thanksgiving dinner; he never could miss a
good meal. Friends may call at the "Scarborough Chapel" of McDougall
& Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Ave. E.), 416-267-4656
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and are invited to share their
memories at the service, which will be held in the Chapel at
11 a.m. on Thursday. Interment of cremated remains to be done

companion Desi. Ron served with the Royal Canadian Air Force
as a technical engineer. He was well respected during his years
with CTV and Global prior to becoming an owner operator of Palette
Productions in Toronto. Since his retirement he was an active
member of St. Catharines Curling Club, Rolling Meadows Golf Club
and The Grantham Optimist Club. Ron is resting at the George
Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines where a
service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday at 11: 30
a.m. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
