GORT, Dr. George Henry
Dr. George Henry GORT went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, in his 71st year, at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus. Dearly beloved husband of Sandra. Loving father of Susan and her husband Frank JURJEVICH of London, Wendy ORT of Kitchener, Lori LIANG and her husband Joseph of Toronto, Sarah TRENKER of London, and John GORT and his wife Dorothy CHONG of New York City. Beloved grandfather of Matthew, Ben, Carley, Sarah, Andrea, Cassandra, Rose, William and baby Jacob. Dear brother of Winnie BERGER of Edmonton, Joan DEJONG of Calgary and the late Dr. John GORT. George practised psychiatry and psychoanalysis at St. Joseph's Hospital, London for many years. He had a love for church organs and music. Special thanks to the London Health Sciences Centre Intensive Care Unit and 4th Floor Medicine staff. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted in New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford Street East at Wellington, on Saturday, May 21, at 11: 00 a.m. Private family interment at Siloam Cemetery, London. If desired, remembrances may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation (Dr. Jim Lewis Research Project) or London Health Sciences Foundation (Dr. David Spence or Dr. Kelly Zarnke Research Projects).

Suddenly at his residence on Thursday October 27th 2005, Fred Laverne WORKMAN of Mill St. Woodstock in his 75th year. Beloved husband of D. Jean WORKMAN (née WATTERS.) Dear father of Don and his wife Marlene, Barb KLEINER and her husband Gerry all of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Allan WORKMAN, Jeff (Connie) WORKMAN, Jerry KLEINER and Lindsay KLEINER and great-grandfather of Paige WORKMAN and Owen KLEINER (Edwards.) Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Bill WORKMAN and by his sister Eva ORT. Fred was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 Woodstock. Loving Duda to Dixie, Jamie, Kevin, Pearl, Stephanie, Gillian, Dylan, Emma, Nolan, Cade and Johnathan. Theresa will be cremated. There will be a traditional service of her remarkable life held at 439 Sunset Beach Rd., Oak Ridges on Saturday, May 14 at 1 p.m. Anyone desiring to honour Theresa's memory is invited to bring a single rose or to share a smile as they recall time spent with her.

Loved mother of Katie KIRKUP- ORTOLAN and her husband Oscar of Burlington, Judy McEWAN and her husband Frank of Thunder Bay, Margaret KIRKUP of Milton and Roy KIRKUP and his wife Susan of Fonthill and their father Jack KIRKUP. Cherished grandmother of Emilie, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Robert, Meagan, Matthew, Victoria, Rachel and Phoebe. Step-mother of Rosemary CLARK, Andrew KING, Sylvia KING, Philip KING, the late David KING and their families. Dear sister of Margaret BELL of Niagara Falls and David BELL and his wife Barbara of Nepean. Barbara was an accomplished singer who went on to direct the Lakehead Choral Group for many years. Her commitment to music continued as she sang with the Oriana Singers in Toronto and also with her own church choir in Palgrave. Dear father of Debbie TRUDGEN and Terry GORDON Leigh and Bob SWIFT and Scott CARPENTER all of Chatham. Grandfather of Katie and Emily CARPENTER and Megan and Shelby SWIFT. Brother of the late Lincoln, Frank, Grant and Robert CARPENTER; Coral HILL, Phyllis McDONALD and Dorothy DUDDY. Also survived by special Friends Puddin and Abby. Of Aylmer, on Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Marion Patricia (ORTON) BIRD and loved father of Robert "Bob" BIRD of Breslau, Deborah BIRD of Saint Thomas, Cheryl and her husband John WILSON of Belleville and Elaine MATEJCEK of Tillsonburg. Dear brother of Yvonne and her husband Frank LA FERLA of Mississauga, Iris and her husband Floyd SWANT of Sault Ste. Marie, Marilyn CRANDALL of Etobicoke and Clifford and his wife Flo BIRD of North Bay, and predeceased by brothers John and Peter. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Toronto on May 16, 1928, the son of the late William and Leta (WALTENBURY) BIRD. He lived most of his life in Aylmer and was retired from Carnation in 198, after 40 years of service. He served in the Air Force and was a member of Aylmer Legion. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Monday at 3: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Aylmer Cemetery.
