Television actor got his break in Hair

Toronto -- Jonathan
WELSH, a Canadian actor who had regular roles
in the television series ENG and Sidestreet, died in Belleville,
Ontario after a brief illness. He was 57.
In addition to his role as the gay character Mac MacFarlane in
the 1980s CTV drama ENG, he appeared in the series Adderly and
had made guest appearances on Earth: Final Conflict,
PSI
Factor,
Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Total Recall 2070 and the children's
show Goosebumps.
Mr. WELSH started out at Ontario's Shaw and Stratford festivals
in the 1960s and got his big break in the musical Hair, at Toronto's
Royal Alex theatre in 1969. In the 1970s, he moved into television
with parts in dramas like The Littlest Hobo and Sidestreet.
