Robert Menzies
McVEAN, also known to many as Bob or Scotty passed
away on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 after a short illness at
the Stratford General Hospital. Born to Peter and Elizabeth
McVEAN
on March 31, 1918 in Perth, Scotland. Robert served with the
Royal Air Force from 1938-1945 and had resided in Bayfield, Ontario
since immigrating to Canada in 1947. Robert's kindness, patience,
and spirit of fun will be remembered by all those whose life
he touched. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Barbara,
eldest son Robert, daughter Louise and son Peter, grandchildren

Died peacefully at Fairmount Home, Kingston. September 28, 2005.
Ham was born in St. Catharines, July 8, 1920
son of Robert and
Agnes (GORDON)
McVEIGH. He grew up with his family in Port Arthur,
Ontario (Thunder Bay) where he graduated from the Port Arthur
Technical and Commercial High School. In 1940, he enlisted in
the Royal Canadian Air Force, earned his pilot's wings and flew
Halifax bombers (433 Squadron) on 32 missions. He was awarded
the Distinguished Flying Cross by King George VI in 1944.
Ham studied mining engineering at the University of Toronto and
graduated 1949. During his university studies, he worked underground
at mines in Geraldton and Long Lac and on the construction of
the Port Arthur breakwater. After graduation, he was employed
by Quemont Mines, Noranda, followed by Dorr-Oliver Long at Orillia,
the Midland-Ross Corporation at Toledo, Ohio, and finally with
Hatch Associates of Toronto. During his professional career,
he travelled and lived world-wide as an engineering consultant.
Ham was pre-deceased by his wife of 58 years Frances Jane
(McCARTNEY,)

Belfast, Northern Ireland, he came to Canada in 1957. Employed
at Avro Aircraft Corporation, he later worked at Robert Simpson
Company until retirement. Long term parishioner at St. Paul's
Anglican Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Former president of
the Leaside Camera Club and member of Bedford Leisure Club in
Nova Scotia. Chartered member of the Masonic Canada Lodge Ancient,
Free and Accepted Masons Toronto. He will be sadly missed by
his devoted wife Florence, son Brian, Linda, and loving granddaughters
Sonja and Meghan. Donations appreciated to the Heart and Stroke

Helen MICHELL, a resident of the Centennial Manor, Little Current
and formerly of Toronto and Tobacco Lake, died at the Manor on
Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the age of 87 years. She was born
in Gore Bay, daughter of the late George Eli and Matilda Jane
(LEWIS)
JOHNSON. In 1941 Helen graduated as a registered nurse
from the Toronto General Hospital then served in the army as
a nursing sister. She nursed for about 15 years, then took the
position of Public Health Nurse. Her affiliation with the University
of Toronto, and the Applied Science Wives was an important part
of her life. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur
Stephen MICHELL in 1978. Loving and loved mother of Jane of Toronto
and Tobacco Lake. Dear sister of Stan and his wife
