RAY, Viola (née SCHANK)
Peacefully at Summit Place in Owen Sound on Thursday, February 10th, 2005. Viola RAY (née SCHANK) of Owen Sound in her 79th year. Wife of the late George RAY and the late Sid YEE. Dear sister of Len SCHANK and his wife Shirley of Owen Sound, Florence and her husband Jim PREISZ of Allenford and Lureine McELREA of Owen Sound. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and her entire family. Predeceased by her parents, Herb and Margaret SCHANK and three brothers, Stan, Hilbert and Wesley SCHANK. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Tannahill Funeral Home, 376-3710 on Saturday, February 12th at 11: 00 a.m., with Doctor Brad CLARK officiating. Visiting one hour prior to service time. Interment in St. Peter's Holy Family Cemetery in London. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society.

FERGUSON, Laurence Keith
At London Health Sciences Centre-Westminster Campus, London on Sunday, February 6, 2005 Laurence Keith FERGUSON of London in his 49th year, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Laurence hailed from Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in his twenties. He had a successful career as an optician, while raising his beloved children Chris, 23 and Julia, 12, with is former wife Lynn. His last employer was Cummins Optical in Masonville Place, where he earned the respect of customers and staff alike. He spent the last seven years enjoying life as part of a second family with his partner Kelly. Laurence was the epitome of a family. His many interests included reading and collecting books (his collection of hard cover books number 500, including many first editions). He loved classical music, and was an accomplished pianist. He was a great scrabble and crossword aficionado, and loved to work with wood.
He is survived by Chris and Julia, James and Mavis, Stephen, Melissa, Jacob and Hannah FERGUSON, many members of his deceased mother Hannah's family and the FERGUSON family and also Kelly and Emily, Valerie and Lionel HURST, and Tracy and Robby LONG. Special thanks to Dr. CHIN- YEE, Chaplain Susan NICKEL and the nurses and staff at the chemotherapy ward and the 7th floor of Westminster Campus, Tower Two. Friends will be received by the family 1 hour prior to the funeral service which will be conducted in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street, South, London on Thursday, February 10th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. with Chaplain Susan NICKEL officiating. Cremation to follow. Died Peacefully on April 25, 2005 at York Central Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Anthony, Wai Mui, Gordon and Joyce. Died peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a courageous and valiant battle with a brain tumour, on Tuesday May 3, 2005 in his 58th year. Loving husband of Nancy for 35 years. Devoted father of Brian and Lara, and Stacey and Nick. Beloved grandfather of Joshua, Austin, Lauren, Portia and Makenna. son of the late Bill and Phyllis YEE. Caring brother and brother in law of Joyce and the late Gerry, Kim and Jan, Richard and Annie, Brenda and Garry, Sharon, and the late Robin. Uncle of Steven, Carey and Steve, and David.
