MESSEROLL (née RENNISON-1990.) Dear father of Elizabeth (Bonnie) SALOMONS (Jan), Dan MESSEROLL (Cathy) and Peter MESSEROLL (Brenda). Sadly missed by grandchildren Natalie and Nicholas SALOMONS and David and Dan MESSEROLL. Beloved great-grandpa of Jake, Marissa, Jesse, Julia and Isabella. Survived by sisters-in-law Jean MESSEROLL and Betty RENNISON. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 8 siblings. A native of Australia and a long-time resident of Halifax, David brought his talents as an actor and director to theatres across Canada, including the Vancouver Playhouse, the Manitoba Theatre Centre, the Stratford and Shaw Festivals, Theatre New Brunswick, The Ship's Company (Parrsboro, Nova Scotia), and Festival Antigonish (Antigonish, Nova Scotia). David was part of the first company at Halifax's Neptune Theatre, where he performed in over 130 productions and served as artistic director for the 1977-78 season. David also served as president of the Maritime Branch of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists, as a member of the Canada Council and as a member of Canadian Actors' Equity Association. David received the Robert Merritt Achievement Award in 2003 for his contributions to theatre in Nova Scotia and the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists Award of Excellence in 2004. David is survived by his wife Karine, his daughters Bea and Rachel, his granddaughter Cate, and his extended family in Australia.

George RENTZELOS passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 13, 2006. He was deeply loved by his family and many Friends. In his fifty years in Canada he had great adventures as an entrepreneur he owned restaurants and a steam-cleaning company but made the most impact in his career as a taxi driver, which gave him ample opportunities to share his warmth, humour and generosity on a daily basis with the people of Toronto. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Ralph Day Funeral Home, 180 Danforth Ave. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the A.L.S. Society of Ontario, 265 Yorkland Blvd., Suite 300, Toronto, M2J 1S5. The funeral will be held next week in Sagiada, the Greek coastal village where he was born.
