Violet graduated as an R.N. from the Ontario Hospital in London in 1932. She nursed in London, Whitby and Woodstock, before marrying in 1942, and spending 45 years in Dereham Centre. She retired from nursing at Parkwood Hospital in London in 1972. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, June 19th, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Junior SORZANO officiating. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Doreen Hattie BARRY and by his parents, Bert and Helen (McDONALD) SAMELLS. Gordon is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Karen and her husband, Len ROSS, of North Bay and by his son, Barry and his wife, Valorie, of Washago. He will be greatly missed by his two grandchildren, Joanne and David ROSS. HUNT III and Rebecca HUNT. He is a special great-grandfather to Victor FEDJ. Peacefully on October 29th, 2006 in her 93rd year at the Rekai Centre where she was very well cared for over the past 3 years. Survived by her children, Roger SAMPSON/SAMSON, Brooke▼ BURNETT and Scott SAMPSON/SAMSON. Mother-in-law▼ to Margaret (Maggie) SAMPSON/SAMSON and John (Sandy) BURNETT. Grandmother▼ to Jennifer, Christopher, Peter, Patrick SAMPSON/SAMSON and Catherine BURNETT. Great-grandmother▼ to Ryanne and Liam SAMPSON/SAMSON. She▼ was a wonderful mother and friend. She always had a wonderful smile for everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was very involved in Rosedale United Church and a great supporter and canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. She gave blood to the Canadian Red Cross Society whenever and wherever they required it until she was no longer young enough to do so. She was a volunteer for Princess Margaret Hospital, Meals on Wheels and many others over the years. She spent the last few years at the Drs. Paul and John Rekai Centre and we thank them for all their kindness and care to her while she was there. She requested that there not be a funeral service and in lieu of flowers please send donations to The Canadian Cancer Society, The Salvation Army or The Rekai Centre.
