CLARK, Eula Johanna (formerly HOBBIN, née TAIT/TAITE/TATE)
Of Norwich, Ontario, at People Care, Tavistock on Thursday June 15, 2006, after a brief illness. Eula was in her 99th year and was born on the family farm at South Walsingham, Ontario on March 15, 1908. She is survived by her loving daughter Joan (HOBBIN) BISHOP and husband Robert of Woodstock; her dear granddaughter Pamela (BISHOP) CHRISTIE and husband Peter of London; and her cherished and loving great granddaughter Erin JOHNSON and husband David of London, England. Also survived by nephews Jim MERCHANT (Zora) of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Larry TAIT/TAITE/TATE (Lynn) of Woodstock; Brennan TAIT/TAITE/TATE of Beachville; niece Marion ANDERSON of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as several great nieces and nephews. Eula was predeceased by her dearly loved parents Henry and Ellena (McCALL) TAIT/TAITE/TATE, an infant son Raymond Peter HOBBIN, husbands Peter HOBBIN and Stanley CLARK, sisters Blanche PALMER (Stewart), Orpha WESTFALL (John), Viola MERCHANT (Tom,) brother Morley TAIT/TAITE/TATE (May,) and several nieces and nephews. In approximately 1918, the family moved to Norwich and the five children of Henry and Ellena grew up at the Norwich Gore, attending the Gore Public School and the Gore United Church. Our Mother and Grandmother was active in the community and enjoyed being a member of the Norwich Historical Society and the Norwich United Church. Her other pursuits included decorating and quilting and in particular painting which she continued to do into her late nineties. She was extremely proud of and took an avid interest in our United Empire Loyalist ancestors (the McCalls of Norfolk County) and passed on a great deal of family history. Eula enjoyed life and was always happy, healthy and content. She was kind, generous and blessed with a wonderful sense of humour. Eula was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. The family feels blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years and we are so grateful for her love. Thank you Grandma. Friends will be received at The Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main St. W., Norwich on Monday, June 19 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Eula's life will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. PROCOP, Betty Lou (née ANDERSON)
Peacefully at home on September 13, 2006, Betty Lou PROCOP (ANDERSON,) of St. Williams, Ontario, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Betty Lou resided and worked in London, Ontario until 2003 when she and Richard retired to St. Williams. Betty Lou is predeceased by her parents, William and Sadie ANDERSON and one brother, Lorne ANDERSON. Betty Lou is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard PROCOP, and her three daughters, Rebecca PROCOP (Dan PLUMB) of Welland, Ontario, Susan PROCOP (Michael NOONAN) and Jennifer PROCOP (Carmell TAIT/TAITE/TATE), both of London, Ontario. A loving Grandma Lou to Trianna TAILOR/TAYLOR and Grandma Betty to Jeremy and Emily NOONAN and Caleb TAIT/TAITE/TATE, she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren. Betty Lou's sense of humour, generosity of spirit, and compassion will be missed by all who knew her. At Betty Lou's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. BELL, Thomas Edward James (1941-2006)
After a valiant battle against cancer, our dad, husband, brother, and friend passed away Friday, June 30th at Sunnybrook Hospital. He was a loving husband and friend to Pam (née TAIT/TAITE/TATE,) a wonderful father and mentor to Catherine BELL (Kent BROWN,) Jennifer BELL (Jeff BURZYNSKI) and Kimberley BELL (Wes PARKER,) and a fabulous grandfather to John and Michael BROWN, Sidney and Grayson BURZYNSKI, and Keara PARKER. He was a cherished brother to Carolyn McLENNAN (Peter McLENNAN) and he loved and was loved by his nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Lillian BELL. After completing his B.Sc. at McGill University, (fun filled years of fraternity and playing Redman hockey), Tom began his career in business. He was a seasoned marketing, sales, and operations executive who had a passion for entrepreneurial opportunities. Tom greatly enjoyed various challenging positions that took him across Canada and around the world. Tom had a sincere love of nature. His cottage at Big Gull Lake was particularly special to him. He was a keen observer and had a deep understanding of the natural world. He was happiest in the outdoors - at his lake or in the garden. Tom will be remembered by his daughters as the best dad ever - from hours spent teaching them how to water-ski to offering his wise counsel on life's more complex issues. He was patient, reassuring, and most definitely their greatest fan. For those who knew him well, he will be missed for his passion and fight for life, his genuine positive attitude, his twinkling eyes, and bright smile. We would like to thank Doctor BERRY and his team at Sunnybrook Hospital and Doctors KOCHA, REID, and LOGAN and their team at the London Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional efforts. Tom's care at both facilities was outstanding and we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all of the nurses involved in his care. Passed away peacefully at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Saturday, February 4, 2006, with her daughter Heather at her side. Beloved wife to the late Elwood TAIT/TAITE/TATE. Loving▲ mother of Ivan and his wife Kathy, Shirley and her husband Bruce, Ken and his wife Shirley, and Heather and her husband Al. Grandmother to Erin, Bonnie, Gayle, Debbie, Joshua, Amy, Jennifer and James. Great-grandmother to Denver and Asher. Dorothy was born and raised on Maple Island and after marrying Elwood moved to Meadowvale and raised their family. Upon retiring, Sundridge became their home until the death of her husband in 1995. Her last ten years were spent in Collingwood. Dorothy was a hard working and caring person who will be remembered fondly by family and Friends. Following the cremation a private family interment will take place in the spring at Chapman's Community Cemetery in Magnetawan.
