Peacefully with her family by her side at Summit Place in Owen Sound on Sunday January 15, 2006. In her 94th year, A.M. Grace ABRA (née BUCKLEY,) the beloved wife of the late Roy ABRA. Loving mother of Hazel and her husband John HOPPER and Ellen and her husband Donald McCONNELL. The loving grandmother of six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Predeceased by two brothers Harvey and Elgin, and by two sisters Jean (Mrs. Harry GARDINER) and Elvie (Mrs. Ed MARSHALL.) Died suddenly but peacefully March 1, 2006 at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, Ontario. Peggy is survived by her loving son Graham ABRAHAM from her first marriage in 1946 to Lieutenant Colonel Reg ABRAHAM (d. 1962,) her daughter-in-law Wenda THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her two grand_sons Damian and Tristan ABRAHAM. She also leaves two step-daughters from her second marriage in 1966 to Colonel Gordon WAY (d. 1998,) Elizabeth MUNDELL and Margaret PAULISSEN, and two grandchildren Trevor and Wendy PAULISSEN. Peggy was born, the youngest of six children, in Wood Green, North London, England in 1915. During World War 2 she worked in The City of London during the day and every night as a volunteer fire watcher on the roofs of the bomb ravaged buildings of that city during the Blitz. (Probably as a result of this, there were few things that would subsequently faze her!) After the war, she moved to Canada with her first husband and fell in love with the country soon becoming a citizen while still managing to remain to all appearances quintessentially English. On the death of her husband and a brief stay back in her homeland, she returned to live in Ottawa with her second husband where they remained until his death in 1998. Peggy loved the outdoors and exercise. In fact, one of her greatest regrets was having to slow down when she broke her hip, at the age of 80, as a result of falling off her ten-speed bike while on vacation in Florida. After moving from Toronto, the last three years of her life were spent with Graham and Wenda, along with her two beloved cats Ben and Belle, in Port Hope, Ontario a town that she loved. Peggy survived most of her generation but she will be sorely missed by the generations that have followed. Louise died tranquilly at home, surrounded by her family in the afternoon of 19 October, 2006. Predeceased by her parents Major-General Sir James Howden MacBRIEN and his wife Nellie Louise ROSS of Port Perry, Ontario, and by siblings Julia Clarissa TEMPLETON, James Ross MacBRIEN, William Ross MacBRIEN and Michael Desmond MacBRIEN. Her half-sister, Lynette KELLER, of Ladysmith, Quebec, and her dear cousin Joe MacBRIEN of Toronto survive. Mourning Louise's passing are her husband Brigadier-General Michael H.F. WEBBER (children, Christopher, Jennifer and Peter) and Louise's children, Michael Ross GRAY/GREY (Elizabeth), Brien Gordon GRAY/GREY (Barbara and children Rebecca and Adam) and Bruce Garstang GRAY/GREY (Teresa and children Sydney and Charlotte) all of Toronto, Ontario, and Diana Jane GRAY/GREY (Peter ABRAHAMS and children Seth, Ben, Lily and Rosie) of Cape Cod. Louise had a passion and flair for artistic creativity and design, which gave her much pleasure in life. ABRAHAMS, Allan Lawrence
Born the 6th of seven children on August 17th, 1924 in Willesden, London, England to parents Louis and Madeline ABRAHAMS. Educated in Middlesex, Allan joined the Royal Air Force in 1941. During his four-year tenure he was initially stationed at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona where he graduated from Flight Training School and obtained his 'Wings'. Later returning to England, Allan was posted to Royal Air Force Bradwell Bay, Essex and finally Royal Air Force Spilsby, Lincolnshire. After World War 2 ended, Allan was transferred to Kirkham, Lancashire were he studied to become an accountant. Married to Corporal Patricia BLYTHMAN of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force on April 20th, 1946, Allan was then posted to Royal Air Force Cosham before being released in 1947. Allan and Patricia came to Canada in 1955 aboard the H.M. Saxonia. Taking up residence in Toronto, Allan first worked in the private sector before joining the Leaside Board of Education in 1960. Later Allan joined the East York Board of Education where as a business administrator he contributed 28 years service before retiring in 1988. While in retirement Allan joined the Etobicoke Board of Education for two years and later served as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for a Condominium Corporation. During the 70s and 80s Allan successfully bred and raced Thoroughbred horses in Ontario and throughout the U.S.A. In recent years Allan and Patricia travelled to Europe and the Middle East while maintaining the family home in Etobicoke. Allan passed away quietly during the early hours of Monday, January 16th, 2006 at Toronto Western Hospital. He is survived by loving wife Patricia and only son Neil and daughter-in-law Alison, brother Gerald ABRAHAMS and sister-in-law Anita, nieces Geraldine, Karen, Kim and Penny, and nephews Alan, David and Roger. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 2 p.m. at the Bernardo Funeral Home, 855 Albion Road, Etobicoke, Ontario. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 20 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Dedicated daughter of Priscilla and Samuel ROSNER, loving sister of Saidye BRONFMAN, O.B.E., Leah Monica AMDUR and Frances GROSSMAN, devoted wife of Doctor Manly FINKELSTEIN (1898-1949) and Moe LEVINE (1903-1978). She will be especially missed by her immediate family, Tom FINKELSTEIN and his wife Pamela MADALENA of Comox, British Columbia, Sue and Bernie PUCKER of Boston, Massachusetts, Roselle ABRAMOWITZ of Stowe, Vermont and Harvey LEVINE and his partner Louise Trudel of Montreal. She adored and was adored by her grandchildren: Cara FINKELSTEIN, Marcie and Bill SCUDDER, Joseph and Melanie ABRAMOWITZ, Naomi and Michael COHEN, Michael and Gigi PUCKER, Ken and Leslie PUCKER, Jon and Marcie PUCKER. Her great grandchildren were a great source of joy and focus for her. Daniel, Jeremy and Elana SCUDDER, Allison EDEN and Isaac ABRAMOWITZ, Loren and Adam COHEN, Abby Maggie and Jessica PUCKER, Oliver PUCKER and Hannah and Isabella PUCKER will miss having her in their lives - always remembering their birthdays and their special desires. She was a devoted aunt and great aunt to Edgar BRONFMAN, Charles BRONFMAN, Phyllis LAMBERT, Barbara BRONFMAN and Jean DEGUNZBURG who often traveled from France to visit with her; Jeff GROSSMAN and Nancy GIDWITZ, Cynthia GROSSMAN and Nancy GROSSMAN. Freda was loved and honoured by the entire Levine family as represented by Michael and Donna LEVINE of Toronto, Allan and Suzie LEVINE of Israel, Ruth and Arthur PENN of Boston. So many around the world counted Freda as a friend and many others adopted her as family because she cared so much about the well-being of so many. The family is eternally grateful to her assistant, Marie-Claire Freeme DE WALLENS and her loving and attentive caregivers for their attention and support. After a valiant battle with cancer, Valerie is now at peace. Her strong will and determination was admired by all who shared in this journey with her. Valerie was the beloved wife of Gary ABRAMS. She was the loving mother of Jody ABRAMS (Michael BALL,) Melissa PETTINGILL (Shane) and Jeffrey ABRAMS (Stephanie CONCANNON) and doting Nana of Ryan and Chloe. Valerie was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Margaret HIGGINS. Dear sister of David HIGGINS (Carol), Trish EAGLESON (David) and Keith HIGGINS (Marilyn). Daughter-in-law to May ABRAMS and sister-in-law to Ken ABRAMS (MaryLou). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cook. Born December 11, 1925, in Romania. Died April 20 in Toronto, of heart failure, aged 80.
Kati KATZ was a young girl growing up in Romania with her parents, baby sister, and two brothers, when the family was tragically ripped apart by the Holocaust. Of the KATZ family, only 16-year-old Kati and her older brother Karchi survived.
But along came Kati's prince. After serving in the Czechoslovakian army, Jimmy was busy feeding the survivors of the war. As the story goes, Kati did not have any shoes, so he bought her a pair. They soon were married, beginning an enduring 61-year love affair.
Kati was a resilient woman. She carried her infant daughter on her body, across the ravaged terrain of Europe to get to a displaced persons camp in Naples, Italy, from where they boarded a ship to Canada. At the Canadian border, Imre, Kati and Marika GRUEN became Jimmy, Kathy and Mary GREEN. With no English, no prospects and few contacts, they settled in Toronto. The Fifties were tough as Jimmy and Kathy struggled to build a life in downtown Toronto, working hard as dressmakers. In 1958, Kathy gave birth to her son Sidney, named for Kathy's late father.
The Sixties were a time of prosperity and happiness. Jimmy's new waste-disposal business was thriving and they had many Friends. Kathy was reunited with her brother Karchi when he and his wife Rosi emigrated to Canada in 1966. The year before Karchi came, Mary got married. Fred spent many nights at the dinner table in Kathy's house, being urged by his mother-in-law to eat more vegetables.
Kathy became a grandmother at the young age of 44 in 1969. She immediately became "chief" caregiver to her two grandchildren, Bonnie and Jay. Kathy's son Sidney, 12 years younger than Mary, could always be counted on to entertain his young niece and nephew.
Life was good. Her loving relationship with Jimmy was the envy of their Friends. She fed him chocolate cake for breakfast, cooked his borscht the way he liked it, and taught him the fine art of vacuuming. Kathy was a patient mother, active grandmother and an effortless cook. Her family craved the delicacy simply called "Bubby's chicken," the paprikash and goulash that tasted like the old country, and her near-medicinal chicken soup. When Sidney married in 1982, Kathy developed a remarkably close relationship with her daughter-in-law, Simmy. When their kids (Justin, Dylan and Taryn) were born, Kathy and Jimmy basked in this new generation, defined by winters at the Florida condo and regular Friday-night dinners at The Pickle Barrel.
But then came a more difficult phase of life. Jimmy took care of Kathy as her health failed. Just as she did as a teenager in Auschwitz, Kathy fought hard and had many miraculous recoveries from several serious ailments. Through it all, Kathy and Jimmy never missed an episode of The Young and the Restless.
Kathy had much joy through her pain, celebrating the birth of her four great-grandchildren, Arly, Ethan, Coby and Remy. She described each one as the most beautiful child born on this Earth. And as long as they had eaten, she was happy.
Kathy rallied in early April to attend the Passover Seder at her daughter Mary's house. She died just over a week later. Kathy rarely sat down to the meals she cooked for her family. She hovered, making sure their plates were full. This can be equated with her inability to exhale until her children were cared for, with her inability to relax until she knew those close to her were safe. Kathy has now finally exhaled: she knows her family is safe.
Bonnie is Kathy GREEN's oldest grandchild. Adam is Bonnie's husband.

George served the citizens of London as a member of the London Police Force from 1964-1975, and thereafter served as Supervisor of Building Services for Old Oak Properties. Peacefully, at London Health Sciences Centre -- University Hospital on Friday, December 29th, 2006, Olga Alberta DEL REY SORI of London at 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Ramon Eustaquio Abreu ROSADO. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Olga FLEITES and her husband Abelardo, and Maritza ABREU. Cherished Grandmother of Norma, Yamilet, Jose, Arturito, Sandra, Jose L., Katherine and Eric. Olga will also be missed by 10 great-grandchildren and their families. Peacefully, on March 10, 2006, at Shepherd Lodge, Toronto, at the age of 89, after a lengthy and courageous journey through Alzheimer's disease. She was the loving wife of the late Frank DE ABREU and will be forever remembered and cherished by her children Terrence (Desiree,) Michael (Liz,) Camille COX (Tony,) Desiree BUCKLEY (Dave), Barbara JEKIR (Gerry), Bernard (Marian), Rose MOUNCEY (Mike,) and Jacqueline GUY (Peter.) She was the loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 27. She is survived by her sister Elva, and her two sisters-in-law, Olga and Laudia.
