On Monday, January 23rd, 2006, Mrs. Darlene KING of London in her 61st year. Predeceased by her dear friend Terry AST (1999.) Loving mother of Tammy KERR and her husband Michael of Maryland, Jillian KING (Jon COOK) of Ridgetown, Kimberly HUGHSON and her husband David of Florida, and Tom HUGHSON of New Jersey. Also loved by her 5 grandchildren: Mark, Lilian, Colin, Alex and Jenna. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 28th, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. Dr. Lloyd BRUBACHER officiating. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Darlene, are asked to consider the Canadian Liver Foundation.

In his 66th year, suddenly while playing hockey on Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Ken, beloved husband of Barbara PERRAM, son of Margaret Astill WALMSLEY and the late Donald ASTILL. Father of Don and Connie of Hillsburgh, David and Lisa of Collingwood, Kelly and Steve NAGY of Georgetown, and Kevin and Michelle of Ravenna. Step-father of Jeff WHITE/WHYTE and Sheila WARDEN and Terri and Steve WILLMETTS. Grandfather of Jake, Donna, Zoe, Noah and Katie ASTILL and Elizabeth and Claire NAGY. Beloved Papa of Michael, Alyssa and Haleigh FERGUSON, Kathleen and Tabitha WILLMETTS and Paige WHITE/WHYTE. Son-in-law of Sarah (Ellen) BELL, and brother-in-law of Dr. Marion and Milton JEWELL, Betty and Wayne BUTTERS, Allan BELL and Carol PLATER, and Dr. Jim BELL and Elise COOPER. Will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2006 at Fawcett Funeral Homes - Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street, from 7-9 in the evening. At Elmwood Place Retirement Community, London on June 15th, 2006, Violet Emily (SAMBELL) JEFFERY of London in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late William Earl JEFFERY (1984.) Dear mother of Mary Lois and Bruce COOPER of London, Larry and Jacquie JEFFERY of Aylmer, and David and Sharon JEFFERY of Sutton. Much loved grandmother of Keven JEFFERY and Marika HOE of Boston, Neil JEFFERY and Sonja LEAL of London, Megan Emily JEFFERY and Mark OAKES of London, Andrea JEFFERY and Dave FERRIS of Toronto, Nicole Emily JEFFERY of Sutton. Loving step grandmother of Randy and Marlene ROBINSON of Kingman, Arizona, Rick and Teresa ROBINSON of Phoenix, Arizona and Linda and Richard WEBBER of Salford. Special great-grandmother of Jada Violet LEAL, Felix and Xander OAKES. Survived by her sister Grace ASTLES of Burlington. Predeceased by her parents Francis Poole SAMBELL (1957) and Emily Louisa (RATHBONE) SAMBELL (1924) and 11 siblings: Florence McROBERTS (1975), Francis George (1897), Ethel May (1898), Francis "Frank" (1983), Benjamin (1968), William (1985), Sydney (1981), Mabel OUTRAM (2001,) Henry "Harry" (2001,) Albert (1983) and Herbert (1999). Violet graduated as an R.N. from the Ontario Hospital in London in 1932. She nursed in London, Whitby and Woodstock, before marrying in 1942, and spending 45 years in Dereham Centre. She retired from nursing at Parkwood Hospital in London in 1972. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, June 19th, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Junior SORZANO officiating. Interment in Mount Elgin Cemetery, Mount Elgin Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Boys' and Girls' Club of London 184 Horton Street, London, Ontario N6B 1K8 or the charity of your choice. ASTLES, Kenneth Harold " Chief" " Red"
At Victoria Hospital after a brief illness on Friday, November 10, 2006, Kenneth Harold "Chief" "Red" ASTLES. He is survived by his loving wife Agnes, now residing at Meadow Park Nursing Home. He will be lovingly missed by his children Barry (Alice), Gregory (Pat), Gail (Peter) and Johnathan (Patti). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Sean, Mark and Kelly ASTLES, and great-grand_son Benjamin, Andrew, Mathew and Erin McLAUGHLIN (father Kevin) and Dylan and Devin ASTLES (mother Cindy.) He will be sadly missed by brother Gale (Sheila). Nieces Tracey (Terry) and Julie (Ken) and nephews Brian (Mary Ellen) and Chris (Kathleen) and his best friend "Valley" Ken was predeceased by his parents Harold and Nellie ASTLES and sister Lucille BOLT. Ken was born August 21, 1922 in Saint Thomas, Ontario. He pursued a career in the Navy from September 1942 until June 1971 serving on numerous ships including HMCS Labrador, HMCS Columbia, HMCS Assiniboine. Following his service in Wold War II he worked for a time at New York Central Railroad in Saint Thomas as a machinest before resuming his naval career and being stationed in Nova Scotia until his retirement in 1971. He was a founding member of the Navy Club and a proud member of the Branch 501 Lambeth Legion. Ken could be found on many a Saturday with his friend's and his dog Valley at Cubby's. He enjoyed many pool parties at his home with family and Friends and also enjoyed time spent in Toledo with Gale and Friends at State Aerial. A memorial service will be held at the Lambeth Legion, 7097 Kilbourne Road, Lambeth on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 1: 00-5:00 p.m. Westview Funeral Chapel 519-641-1793 entrusted with cremation arrangements.

She will be lovingly missed by her children Barry (Alice), Gregory (Pat), Gail (Peter) and Johnathan (Patti). Passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at William Osler Health Centre, Brampton. Born in what he referred to as the "Land of Song" - Wales, in a small village, Nantgarw, near Pontypridd, home of singer Tom Jones. Emigrated, at 7 years of age, to Canada with his parents and brother, John. Settled in North Hatley on Lake Massawippi, in what he often referred to as "the beautiful Eastern Township of Quebec." He would often comment as to "how dear to his heart were the scenes of his childhood." Served in the Canadian Army "R.C.E." overseas from 1940-1945. Married his wife, Daphne, in England in 1942 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2002. Discharged from the Army in early 1945, settled in Montreal where his wife, Daphne, and 2 year old son joined him in late 1945. Lived in Montreal until 1962. Was transferred to Brampton, Ontario by the company now named "Nortel", where he was employed as Department Manager on his retirement after some 32 years. His wife and son joined him in Brampton after several weeks. Predeceased by his daughter, Darlene age 6, and his son, Barry age 24 years. Also predeceased by his brother, John. Survived by his wife Daphne, of Brampton and niece, Rose WEINHOLD of Cowansville, Quebec. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint_Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church, 290 Balmoral Drive, where he was an active member since 1963 on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 10 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior. Cremation to follow at Meadowvale Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Andrews Community Funeral Centre, Bramalea Chapel. 905-456-8190. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
