It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara
Ann RYAN (née
BJERNO) who died suddenly on Sunday, January 15,
2006 at her home in Oakville at the age of 56. Barb's loving
heart touched many lives. Family and Friends who were honoured
to have her in their lives knew her for her kindness and selflessness.
She was a most compassionate and gentle soul with a quiet wisdom
whose greatest pleasure was in helping and giving to those around
her. Barb will be deeply missed by her daughters, Janet and Chrystal,
her grand_son Nelson, her mother Irene
BJERNO, her sister Jette
(Doug), brother Niels (Laura), sister Linda (Derek), brother
Jeff (Theresa) and their families. A memorial service will take
place at Appleby United Church, 4407 Spruce Avenue, Burlington
on Friday, January 20 at 6: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Cardiac Centre at Trillium Hospital.

Passed peacefully at the Intensive Care Unit Lion's Gate Hospital,
Vancouver, on September 25th at 3: 30 p.m., embraced by his wife
Patricia and daughters, Sheryl, Jennifer and Julia. Diagnosed
with leukemia, his cancer went into remission for six years and
for that, his loved ones are grateful. Born 1925, in Gammel Lindholm,
near Copenhagen, Denmark, Vaughn, at the age of 4 years of age,
immigrated with his parents Niels and Kristine
BJERRE to Prince
Albert, in Midwestern Canada. In his early 20's in the 1940s,
Vaughn launched what would be an impressive career in the Broadcasting
Industry, spanning over 35 years. As a young radio announcer
- ('Yawn with Vaughn' morning show among his credits) his talents
lead to program directing - On-air CKSO Sudbury, CKWX and
CKMO Vancouver 1940s, Program Director CFRA Ottawa, CKSL
London 1950s, Vice President of CHFI / CFTR - Roger's
Broadcasting - Toronto 1960s-70s. His distinctive, satiny voice
will always resonate in the memory of those who knew him. As
a friend to many, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense
of humour, his unfailing honesty, his overwhelming generosity,
and his sensitivity towards animals and nature. A loving, caring
husband to Patricia, the greatest father with dedicated support
and adoration to Sheryl, Jennifer and Julia, father-in-law to
Darrell and Roberto whom he treated like sons, and beloved Grampa
to Robin, Adam and Gori, he will be cherished and missed forever.
Memorial Service to be held Friday October 13th at 11am, Sands
Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, B.C. In lieu of
flowers, we gratefully ask for a small donation made to: The
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, The Western Canadian
