Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy, on Sunday, October 29 from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at All Saints Roman
Catholic Church on Monday, October 30 at 10 a.m. with Fr. John
SHARP officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment was October 31
at Shetland United Church Cemetery. A tree will be planted as
a living memorial to Orville.

long-time volunteer in organizations that served Belleville,

Army Corps and was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in

of University Women (Belleville Chapter) Scholarship Fund, the
Children's Aid Society of Northumberland, or to the Belleville

surrounded by her family, Norma (Nan) Winnifred Ecclestone

in her 88th year. Nan was the devoted wife of Joseph Antoine
(Tony) LEGRIS for 61 years. Loving mom of Paul

She was a loving aunt to
many nieces and nephews. Nan was the youngest child of Flora
Jermyn ECCLESTONE and Albert Edward
ECCLESTONE of Bracebridge,
Ontario. She trained and was registered a nurse at the Hospital
for Sick Children in Toronto until her marriage to Tony in 1945.
A loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to her family
and Friends in Toronto and Muskoka. She was an excellent cook
and lifelong knitter, as well as an avid golfer and curler at
St. George's Golf and Country Club in Etobicoke for many years.
Nan was also a passionate bridge player and played in four different
clubs in Toronto. Above all, she was a lifelong Tory supporter.
Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor
St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway on Thursday, from
7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be
held at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, Rathburn Road (at
Kipling) on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment on Monday,
June 26, 2006 in Bracebridge. If desired, memorial donations
may be made to Nan's favorite charity, Sleeping Children Around
the World, 29 Pinehurst Crescent, Toronto, Ontario M9A 3A5.
