CARTER, Edwin H.
At his residence on Saturday may 20th, 2006 Edwin H. CARTER of Woodingford Lodge and formerly of Innerkip in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Catherine "Kae" CARTER (née EDDIE) 1993. Dear father of Doug CARTER and his wife Sally of Woodstock and Don CARTER and his wife Marjorie of Stratford. Loved grandfather of Pat (Larry) RINESS, Scott (Connie), David (Andrea), Barbara (Ed) KUIPERS, Susan (Greg) CROCKER, Paul (Morna) and great-grandfather of Jennie, Trevor, Ashley, Drew, Jacqueline, Allison, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Ryan, Celeste, Aubrey, Marek and Abigail. Dear brother of Harry CARTER (Ruby) of Innerkip. Predeceased by his brothers Howard (Margaret), Albert, Glen (Ellen), by his sister Henrietta FACY. Edwin was a longtime Elder of Innerkip Presbyterian Church. He had contracted many buildings in Woodstock and surrounding area for many years. Edwin was a long standing member of the Woodstock Home Builders Association, a past Director and President of the Innerkip seniors Center and finally an active member of the Woodingford Lodge Seniors Council. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004 on Tuesday May 23, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. GILL, Thelma (née FINLAYSON)
At the Seaforth Manor, Seaforth, Ontario, in her 93rd year regretfully left us on October 28th, 2006. Formerly of London. Beloved wife of the late Roy GILL (1989.) Loving mother to Shelley and husband Arden EDDIE and granddaughter, Ashley (Seaforth.) Beloved mother to Landy and Al CORBETT (Bittern Lake, Alberta,) grandchildren Andrea and Ken CARLSON, Danny, Erik, and Carl. Beloved mother to Darryl and Diane GILL (Kitchener, Ontario,) grandchildren Matthew and Rachelle. Great-grandchildren Hailee, Morgan, Nathan, Simon and Jacobb. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg at a later date. Thelma's request was no visitation or funeral service; only a toast to her life. Thelma loved life; a sparkling light has left us.

EDDS, Patricia (née McCLURE) R.N. (February 1933-May 2006)
Her lifelong enjoyment of music, drama, baseball, gardening and overseas travel were all peacefully terminated by cancer on May 24, 2006. Daughter of Doctor Robert McCLURE, C.C., and Mrs. Amy McCLURE. Predeceased by her eldest daughter Elizabeth EDDS (MASTERS.) Survived by her husband of 45 years John A. EDDS, F.C.A.; their three children Margaret TYMSTRA (Jan,) Suzanne EDDS (Jeffery RAWSTHORNE) and Rob EDDS (Barbara DICKIE;) and her siblings Douglas McCLURE, Norah BUSBY and Jo TAILOR/TAYLOR. Patricia graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Mack Training School for Nurses (St. Catharines) class of 1955. A private family service has taken place. She donated her body to medical research at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. In accordance with her wishes there will not be any visitation. The funeral service will be the appropriate (most likely in 2007) annual ecumenical interment service held in June by the University of Toronto at the Church of Saint_James-the-less (adjoining Saint_James' Cemetery and Crematorium, 635 Parliament Street, Toronto). Persons wishing to attend the service should contact a family member in May 2007. Friends and relatives are invited to a reception at 178 St. David's Road, St. Catharines on Sunday June 4 from 1: 00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as a celebration of Patricia's wonderful life. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Hartman for her palliative support. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

At London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus, London, on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty BRADY, beloved wife to Walter for 27 years. Dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born January 22, 1930 in Point Edward, Ontario. Mother of Diane and Lee SCHULTZ, Petrolia, Marilyn Horner McCABE and Mike McCABE, Enniskillen Township and Maureen HORNER and Frank WAHL, Mackenzie, British Columbia, and stepmother of Sherry Lee PINKHAM (Peter,) Maryland and children, Sandra Jean BOWEN, West Virginia and children and James Walter BRADY, West Virginia and children. Fondly known as Grandma Boop to her grandchildren Michelle SCHULTZ (Clive TOOMEY), Bolton, Ontario, Darcie KING (Rob), Sarnia, Heather WAHL, Mackenzie, British Columbia, Michael McCABE (Meri), Hamilton and their children, Megan McCABE (Paul) Smithville and Stephen McCABE, Sarnia. A great joy in her life was her newest great-granddaughter Taryn Elizabeth KING. Grandma Boop was waiting patiently for another new arrival in June. Loving sister of Jackie (Pat) STAPLETON, Strathroy. Special and much loved aunt to Maureen, Tommy, Susan, Mike, Chris and their many children. Predeceased by niece Mary (2001) and parents Margaret (1981) and Tommy (1981) Prudence of Point Edward. Betty Boop loved life! A passionate sewer of Halloween and other custumes, Boop brought laughter and love giving her creative gifts to children, adults and to those needing a warm nightie. Lately, baby clothes were her newest passion, sewing blankets with love for her new great-granddaughter Taryn. An original "Village" girl, Betty was loved and adored by her many long standing Friends in Point Edward. An original member of the Point Edward Womens' Hockey Team, Betty loved to skate. A life long member of Point Edward United Church, Betty brought joy to her church family and supported children's program through her crafts and costumes. Family was the center of Betty's life, and she will be greatly missed. We can close our eyes and watch Boop skate with the angels! Skate on Mom, skate on! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Point Edward United Church, 213 Michigan Avenue, Point Edward on Friday, March 10th at 2: 00 p.m. with Reverend Kathryn EDDY officiating. Visitation at the church on Friday afternoon from 1: 00 p.m. until the time of service. At Mrs. BRADY's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society or the Point Edward Christian Drama Group c/o of Point Edward United Church. HAWKINS, Jean
On Friday, September 15, 2006, Jean HAWKINS of London in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Eldon for 56 years. Dear sister-in-law of Gord WHITHAM, Aunt of Joyce and Don SMITH, all of Brantford and Arthur and Marilyn WHITHAM of Cambridge. Long-time special friend of Helen EDDY of Brantford. Much loved by Helen's children Charmaine, Michelle and Jeanette. Jean's spirit and determination were an inspiration to her many Friends in London and abroad, who will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be conducted at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 3: 00 p.m. with Rev. David McKANE officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at a later date in the family plot in Brantford. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint_Joseph's Health Care-Parkwood Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.

Peacefully at Country Terrace Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in her 90th year. Beloved mother of Michael SLATER of London, Ronald SLATER of Sudbury and Norman SLATER and his wife Charmaine EDDY of Peterborough. Dear grandmother of Hart SLATER- EDDY of Peterborough. Sister of the late Ernest SPARLING, Jean NEWELL, Mary KEECH, Russell SPARLING, Herbert SPARLING, Ada SPARLING and Carrie STEPHEN. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 Saint_James Street at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 8 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Luke's (Broughdale) Anglican Church, 1204 Richmond Street at Bernard. Cremation with interment at Woodland Cemetery.
