IRWIN, Francis L.
A resident of Wallaceburg passed away at the Sydenham Campus on Monday, January 16th, 2006 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Mary E. (EWING) IRWIN. Loving father of Stewart, David Jr. and Mary of Wallaceburg and Paul and Denise of Highgate. Grandfather of 8. Brother and brother-in-law of Dale and Joan IRWIN of Corunna, Eleanor IRWIN, Jeanne IRWIN. Francis was predeceased by his parents Archibald and Marie (McFADDEN) IRWIN and brothers Mac and Bruce. The family will receive relatives and Friends at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street (at Elgin), in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. The funeral service will be conducted by Cheryl KIRK, Diaconal Minister in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1: 30 p.m. A time of fellowship and refreshment at the Cavanagh Funeral Reception Centre will follow interment at Dresden Cemetery. If desired, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home 519-627-3231.

Of Wallaceburg, after a valiant and courageous struggle passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in his 73rd year. Bud is a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Canadian Legion, a former Administrative Clerk and Treasurer of Chatham Township, Past Chair of the Public General Hospital in Chatham, Past President of the Dresden Jr. Kings and Rural Ontario Municipal Association, a farmer and oil producer. son of the late John Stewart and Keitha Pearl (BIRD) EWING. Beloved husband of Bonnie (BABCOCK.) Loving father of Kelly and Richard SHAW of Tupperville, Kimberly and Greg RYAN of Wallaceburg and Scott and Stacey EWING of Tupperville. Dear grandfather of Erin and John SIMONS, Lindsay, Andrew, Asilyn, Tyler, Kyle, Alyssa, Ashley and Taylor. Brother of Shirley LUCIER, Carol and Don DALY, Donna and Chuck McCARRON, Murray and Kae EWING and the late Geraldine LEWIS and Richard EWING. Brother-in-law of Lela WELLS, Ross and Jean BABCOCK and Donna and Dave McFADDEN. ROBERTS, Lenore Shirley (née ROCK)
Of Saint Thomas, on Monday, May 22, 2006, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 72nd year. Dearly loved wife of Melvin Robert ROBERTS and loved mother of William Harold ROBERTS of Vancouver and his son Tyler and Diane Shirley ROBERTS of Saint Thomas and her children Rob and Alana ARKEL. Dear sister of Dave and his wife Nan ROCK of Saint Thomas, Joanne and her husband Dave THOMAS of Saint Thomas, Jeannie and her husband Doug EWING of San Diego, Cal. And the late Loraine CLERC. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Lenore was born in Saint Thomas on November 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (HATCH) ROCK. She enjoyed bowling. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Shriners Hospital for Children.

McDERMID, Katherine " Kate" Mary (née KING)
Died peacefully with loving family by her side at Bluewater Health, Mitton Site, on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the age of 95. Kate was born in Wingham, Ontario. Kate's stories and recollections of people and details of their lives and how they were intertwined through generations, never ceased to amaze her listeners. She touched the minds and hearts of three generations of students, teachers, Friends and acquaintances. Kate personified a sense of style, order and grace uncommon in today's world. Beloved wife of the late Duncan McDERMID (2005.) Loving mother of Mary LAWSON of Orangeville and Charlotte EWING and her husband Steve of Ottawa. Proud grandmother of Diane, Deirdre, Diarmid, Laura Kate and Brynn; and great-grandmother of John David, Keegan, Zane, Zachary, Caelan and Liam. Dear sister of Mary SPEARS and her late husband Borden. Predeceased by her parents Adella and Thomas KING and her son Ralph McDERMID. A memorial service for Kate will be announced at a later date. Peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2006 surrounded by the complete love and devotion of family and Friends. Predeceased by her much loved husband Giuseppe with whom she shared 57 wonderful years. Beloved and cherished Nonna of Daniel, Matthew and Pierce, who will always be her three "le stele di Nonna".
