Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, January 11th, 2006. In his 81st year, Floyd Vimy TEDFORD, the beloved husband of the late Ruth A.E. TEDFORD (née HYSLOP.) The loving father of Linda VERBEKE, of Newmarket, Joanne WALLER, and Richard and his wife Sheila, all of Owen Sound. Loving Gramps of Terri-Anne and Bing Jr., Angela and Murray, Sean and Sara, Shari and Kevin, Lorree and Justin, Trisha and Joe. Great Grampa of Jazlyn, Teagan, Kurtis, Haileigh, Jevon, Autumn and Drayton. Dear brother of Helen (Mrs. Frank CHRISTIE) and Anne McLEAN. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sons-in-law Ron VERBEKE and Brian WALLER, by three brothers Harry, Murray and Jimmy, and by one sister Norma (Mrs. Ed MALUSKE.) Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Friday from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11: 00 a.m. Dr. Brad CLARK officiating. Peacefully surrounded by her family, at Kelso Villa in Owen Sound, on Tuesday evening, October 10th, 2006. Olive Ialeen GIVENS (nee HEIMBECKER,) of Owen Sound and formerly of Holland Centre, in her 82nd year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Elgin GIVENS. Loving mother of Joe GIVENS and his wife, Pat and Garry GIVENS and his wife, Judy, both of Owen Sound, Judy HYSLOP and her husband, Paul, of Meaford, Bob GIVENS and his wife, Lorna, of Owen Sound, Janice GIVENS (Wayne HOLLINGWORTH,) of Williamsford, Debbie LAWRENCE and her husband, Jim, of Burlington, Cindy SANFORD and her husband, Greg, of Mississauga, Jim GIVENS, of Owen Sound and Penny MORRISON and her husband, John, of Annan. Proud grandmother of Shellie, Jana (Dave), Jennifer (John), Jackie (Jason), James, Kylee, Jordan and Nicholas. Adoring great-grandmother of John, Samantha, Jessica and Jennifer. JOYCE, Hugh Kirkpatrick
On April 15, 2006, at home in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, in his 86th year. Born in Toronto, son of Thomas Wolsey JOYCE and Lail Kirkpatrick (HYSLOP.) Predeceased in 1994 by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Jane (WATERS.) Survived by his sons, Richard Kirkpatrick (Barbara) of LaHave, Nova Scotia and John Waters (Janet) of Peterborough, Ontario; grandchildren Tricia (Simon BRASSINGTON,) Worcestershire, England; Andrew, Michael and Richard of Peterborough; and great-grand_son Sam BRASSINGTON; sister Barbara PEACE of Toronto. Graduate of Upper Canada College and University of Western Ontario (1949 Gold Medalist). Served with the Royal Canadian Navy (R.C.N.V.R.) (1939-1945) retiring with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. Joined Bowater Mersey, Liverpool, in 1950; General Manager of Bowater Newfoundland Ltd., Cornerbrook, Newfoundland (1965-1968); Vice-President of Sales and later President and Chief Executive Officer of Bowater North America Corporation, Greenwich, Connecticut. (1968-1984), and Chairman until his retirement in 1984. During his working career Hugh served on many Corporate Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees. Throughout his life he devoted many hours to chairing and serving on Boards for educational, civic and charitable organizations in Canada and the United States. Funeral Service to take place on Friday, April 21 at 11: 00 a.m. Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool, Nova Scotia. FRIED, Doctor Thomas
Passed away on December 21, 2006 at home with his family at his side. Thomas was the beloved son of Adolf and Ella FRIED. He leaves behind his wife Georgina and daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Don BAUMANDER and Vera and Peter SAINT_GEORGE- HYSLOP. Granddaughters Sandra, Lisa, Nikki, Sarah and Frances will sorely miss their beloved Papa. Tom was the former medical director of the Workers Compensation Board Downsview Rehab Center and the team doctor for the Canadian National Soccer Team as well as numerous professional and amateur teams. He is a member of the Canadian Olympic and Soccer Halls of Fame. Charitable contributions can be made to the Center for Research in Neurodegenerative Disease at the University of Toronto.

ANNING, John " Jack" Henry
It is with great sadness that the family of John (Jack) Henry ANNING announces the passing of their father at Marshall Gowland Manor peacefully with his family at his side, on Friday, June 16, 2006, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Ina (RIDDELL) ANNING (2004.) Jack and Ina were happily married for 65 years. He will be sadly missed by his children and their spouses, Jane and Jim GALLIE, Beth and Bob HYSTEAD, Gary and Ginny ANNING and Bill ANNING all of Sarnia, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born in Kincardine, Ontario, he came to Sarnia as a youngster. Jack was a member of Liberty Lodge #419 Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons and the Mocha Shrine. Predeceased by his siblings Elizabeth, Lillian, Greta and Dorothy. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 12: 00 noon from Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and Friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 10: 30 a.m. until service time at 12:00 noon.
