BUTT of Oxford, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning at the age
of 87. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Daisy
BUTT and his
two brothers Robert and Floyd
BUTT of Columbus, Ohio. He is survived by his
brother, Harold
BUTT of Hilliard Ohio, his sister, Justina
BUTT of
Johnstown,
Ohio, his wife of 64 years, Waneta J.

his daughter Carol

Francis was born in Sunbury, Ohio on October
25, 1918. After graduating from North High School in Columbus, Ohio, he was
employed by the Curtis Wright Co. In 1942 he joined the Air Force and was
deployed from Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton, Ohio. After
spending three and one half years in the service including two years in
North Africa and Italy, he was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to
Columbus. In 1948 Francis moved to Delaware, Ohio and started Delaware
Heating Company. He became District Sales Manager for Iron Fireman, Inc. in
1968. In 1971 he moved to Flushing, Michigan where he started the building
and development firm Pinewood Downs, Inc. He retired in 1983 to live in
Nokomis, Florida and at their cottage near Whitefish Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Francis was a fifty eight year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order
of Elks and a fifty six year 32nd Degree member of the Ancient and Scottish
Rite of Free Masonry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing
bridge, golfing, fishing, and "tinkering" in his work sheds. A memorial
service was held at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike,
Oxford, Ohio 45056 (513-523-4411) on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 11: 00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the McCullough
Hyde Hospital Memorial Trust, 21 Lynn Avenue, Oxford, Ohio 45056 (513-664-3851).
