Passed away peacefully on March 30, 2006 at Cummer Lodge Nursing
Home in North York at the age of 81. Beloved wife of George,
and dear mother to Neil and his wife Jayne, and proud grandmother
to their children, Lauryn and Grace. Hazel was born July 18,
1924 in a log cabin in Summit Lake, British Columbia, and was
raised on a farm in Turtleford, Saskatchewan. World War 2 brought
her to Eastern Canada where Hazel began her working career, and
later moved back to Winnipeg where she met George, her husband
for 57 years. Hazel and George had wonderful years together as
they travelled on different work projects around the world. They
settled in Toronto in the 1950's and raised two wonderful children,
Neil and Jenny (who died tragically in 1982). Hazel will be remembered
as a beautiful and considerate person, whose laugh brought joy
to her many Friends and family. Friends may call on Tuesday,
April 4, 2006 from 7 -9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge
Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service and
lunch reception will be held at R.S. Kane Funeral Home on Wednesday,
April 5, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations
may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca).
