Peacefully at home, after a hard fought battle with cancer, on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, G.D. (Shyam) NADKARNI, beloved husband of Meena, proud and loving father and father-in-law of Lavita and Michael of Denver, Colorado. and Neil and Natasha of Columbia, South Carolina. Much loved "Aba" of Kaeya, Griffin and Maya. A man of deep faith, lover of golf, history, travel, world affairs, and a gourmet cook, Shyam lived a full life and was actively involved in many charitable and social organizations around Toronto and Mississauga. Visitation for Friends at the G. H Hogle Funeral Homes "Mimico Chapel", Etobicoke (416-251-7531) on Thursday, February 2nd between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3rd at the same location, followed by cremation after Hindu rites at Saint John's Dixie Crematorium, 737 Dundas St. E., Mississauga. Grateful thanks from the family to Doctors JENEY, SKALANDA, EDNEY, DESHPANDE, the palliative team at St. Joseph's Hospital, dedicated nurses Beata RALLIS and Val DAWSON, and the many Friends and relatives from around the world who called, visited and comforted Shyam in his final illness. CAMPBELL, Barbara
Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, London, Mrs. Barbara CAMPBELL passed away in her 79th year. Born in Pembroke, Ontario, she is the beloved wife of Ewyn (Hughie) CAMPBELL. Predeceased by her brother Gordon SLY. Survived by her sister-in-law Roberta SLY of Sacramento, California and her brother-in-law Chester CAMPBELL of Point Clarke, Ontario. Also survived by nephews Vince SLY of Sacramento, California, Lynn (Christine) CAMPBELL of Ottawa, Ontario, David CAMPBELL of Brampton, Ontario and nieces Kerinda SLY and Kalli (Adam) SKALET of Sacramento, California. Barbara will be missed by her special grand niece Madeline Rose SKALET and her special cousin Nancy BRISCOE of Pembroke, Ontario. Friends will be received at Memorial Funeral Home, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road, (East of Highbury) on Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 2: 00-5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13 at 1: 30 p.m. Private interment Lurgan Cemetery, Point Clarke. Peacefully entered into the Lord's hands on January 22, 2006 in her 99th year. Widow of Gladstone. Loving mother of Jeanette (Mrs. T. SPELCHUK), Elsie (Mrs. L. KILLINGBECK), Robert and Diane, Edna (Mrs. H. HUKE), and the late Lillian (Mrs. W. SKANES). She will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Washington & Johnston Funeral Home, 717 Queen Street East, parking behind funeral home off of Broadview Avenue, 416-465-3577, on Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery. Born March 19, 1939, Boston, Massachussetts, died November 24, 2006 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Predeceased by parents Daniel O'KEEFE and Joan FORDE, both formerly of Co. Cork, Ireland and sister Mary all of Saint Peter's Parish, Dorchester Massachussetts. Survived by sisters Julieann CLOUGHER of Braintree, Massachussetts, and Sister Joan O'KEEFE, S.C., of Halifax, Nova Scotia; daughter Coletta (Steve HOLMES) of Chilliwack, British Columbia, son Daniel (Kim BURROWS) of Port Angeles, Washington, daughter Aileen of Powell River, British Columbia, their mother Doreen née GAGNIER of Courtenay, British Columbia; daughter Maura (Rob SKATES) and her mother Joyce née MacAULAY, all of Toronto, Ontario. Also survived by grandchildren Leah, Vanessa, Jake and Deanna HOLMES, Cullen and Timothy O'KEEFE and special granddaughter Shannon SPEAR. At Charles' request his body has been contributed to the University of British Columbia for the advancement of medicine through anatomical study. In lieu of flowers, please consider registering or donating to the organ donor society in your area in Charles' memory.
