Peacefully on Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 at the Georgetown Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dick SUCCEE in his 78th year, loving husband of Stella for 53 years, beloved father of Bruce (Dorothy,) Rick (Kathy) both of Brampton and Nancy HANNA (Richard) of Winnipeg. Dear Grampa of Craig, Sarah, Matthew, Nicholas, Christopher and Rory. Brother of Cecil, Hazel DOWNHAM and Jane FEWIN. Dick will be sadly missed by his best friend Billy. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones and son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, 905-877-3631, on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral and committal service will be held in the chapel on Friday January 13th at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Of Saint Thomas, passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2006, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Donald W. BEER (Mar. 2, 2003.) Loving mother of Linda LEE and her husband Greg of London, Richard BEER and Gerald BEER, both of R.R.#3, Saint Thomas. Dear grandmother of Trisha MORRIS and her fiancé Jason GROUETTE, Steven LEE and his fiancée Joanna REGAN, and great grandmother of Benjamin and Thomas LEE, all of London. Sadly missed by her sister, Mary DUDDER, her brother, Walter MELNYK and his wife Mary, all of Calgary, Alberta and sister-in-law, Muriel SUCH of Saint Thomas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, October 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Samko and Annie KRYSAK) MELNYK. She was a former employee of Singer Controls, Saint Thomas. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully acknowledged.

In her 87th year passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Beloved wife and soul mate to Hugh for 66 years. Loving mother to Alma (Lynne) and Marvin CHILDS of Northville, and Janis and Errol AVELING of Grand Bend. Grandmother to Tom, Susan, Lori, Sandra, and Steven. Great grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Evelyn SUCHARD, Bob and Marge SCARBOROUGH. Predeceased by brother Leonard and brother-in-law Dalt SUCHARD. Cremation has taken place and as per Margaret's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Memorial donations to the charity of choice would be greatly acknowledged. Passed away peacefully early Friday morning, December 1, 2006, at her home with loving family by her side. Loving mother of David, devoted wife to John. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Kevin and Sally, Gary and Marianne, and Brian and Moira. Maureen taught by golden example with lessons that won't soon be forgotten. Heartfelt thanks to all members of Team Maureen for their unwavering support through this difficult time. So many did she help, so many did help her. SMITH, Wilfred Ronald
In the early morning hours of September 8, 2006 at the Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital another great man slipped away. In his 73rd year after a brief battle with cancer Ron passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Dearly loved husband of 46 years of Mary Jane (BERRY) SMITH and loved father of Dale (Janis BLACKWELL,) Sherri, and Darryl (Tracy). Much loved grandfather of Keenan and Christian. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Marvin and Margaret BERRY of Port Stanley and Ted SUCKLEY of Saint Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Marion (LAMB) SMITH and a sister Ruth. Ron was born in Saint Thomas and lived most of his life in Port Stanley. He retired from the village of Port Stanley Works Department after 15 years of service. Previously Ron worked at a variety of jobs, ran his own business and built a family home. Ron was a former member of the Port Stanley Lions Club, a founding executive member of the Port Stanley Jr. D hockey team, a member of the PSGA and a stand up goalie for the Port Stanley Cardiac Hockey League. He always enjoyed the company of Friends, family dinners, camping, golf and good music. A trailer in Port Glasgow has brought much happiness over the past two years. Interment is on the south slope of Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
