ROY, Wilfred A.J.
It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Wilfred A.J. ROY, in his 80th year on January 25, 2006, as a result of an auto collision in Florida while on holiday. Survived by his beloved wife, Marcelle (née BERTRAND.) Father of Lorraine and Janusz WROBEL (Dundas,) Claire and Tim WEBER (Stratford) and Julie and Paul STEINBERG (Boston, Massachusetts.) Loving grandfather of Amelia and Sophie WEBER, and uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Eugene and Delphine ROY (Pain-Court,) brothers Ernest and Norman, and sister Alice BECHARD. Survived by sisters Annette STRONG, Evelyn PARENT and Jeannette COFFEY. After obtaining his degree in Civil Engineering, Mr ROY enjoyed an active and successful farming career in Pain-Court and area. He was a key member of countless agricultural boards, earning him an honoured place in the Kent County Agricultural Hall of Fame. Relatives and Friends are invited to join his family for a Memorial Mass at St Pius X Church, 777 Valetta St, London on Saturday, April 22 at 12: 00 noon, with Fr. WROBEL, Stanley
Passed away peacefully on November 13, 2006 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Jane. Loving father of Jack (Wanda) and George (Ruthanne). Born in Falkow, Poland, Stanley survived the concentration camps of World War 2 to make a new life in Canada. He was a long time activist in the Polish community through the Polish Alliance of Canada and the Zwiazkowiec. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church (670 Sheppard Avenue East). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Copernicus Lodge Foundation, 66 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M6R 3A7 would be appreciated. A resident of London and formerly of Chatham, Theresa STERLING died at her residence on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the age of 56. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Garnet J. and Mary T. (CATTON) STERLING. Loving mother of Jackie LAMARSH and her former spouse Louis BAILEY of London, Joseph LAMARSH of Shelbourne, Tena PIETERSON of London and Benjamin PIETERSON also of London. Grandmother of Simon and Philip BAILEY. Sister of Peg and Al JOHNS of Chatham, Shirley and Joseph ONGENA of Thamesville, Francis and Karen STERLING of Blenheim, Rita VAN DEVEN of Chatham and predeceased by Barbara STERLING (2005.) Survived by her former husband George MURMANN of Sarnia and many nieces and nephews. Theresa will be missed by her canine companion Begbie. Family will receive Friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2: 00-4:30 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11: 30 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 from Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Fr. Matthias WRONSKI, Celebrant. Parish prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening. Cremation to follow with a family interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Chatham at a later date.
