At Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, Jean Elizabeth (MONK) MacGREGOR, of Goderich, formerly of Kippen, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of W. Bruce MacGREGOR. Loving mother of Douglas of Goderich. Dear sister-in-law of Ruby MONK, Ron and Mildred MacGREGOR and Muriel MacGREGOR. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Elizabeth (WYNACHT) MONK, her brothers Wesley and Alan, her sister Edith and her husband Donald DAYMAN and her brother-in-law Wilmer MacGREGOR. At Jean's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation. Private family interment Hensall Union Cemetery. DYKES, James Grant
Peacefully at home after a brief illness on Saturday, September 30, at age 86. Beloved husband of Jeanne (née WYNDELS,) loving father of Jennifer (Then), and devoted grandfather of Jay and Christianne. Predeceased by his brother John and sister Marion PROBER, he will be fondly remembered by his and Jeanne's many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Winnipeg, he received a B.Com. from the University of Manitoba. His service during World War 2 in the Royal Canadian Navy (1941-45) included posting on H.M.C.S. Athabascan. He retired as Lieut-Commdr. James continued in public service as a Trade Commissioner in Ottawa and London, England and Industrial Commissioner in Windsor, Ontario. From 1954 until his retirement in 1985, he was President of the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers' Association, Toronto, where he helped lay the groundwork for the Canada-U.S. Auto Pact. James will be remembered for his unfailing adherence to his personal belief that courtesy, kindness and good humour make the world a better place. A service to celebrate James' life will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue on Friday, October 6th at 11 a.m., followed immediately by a reception. If desired, donations for research may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Donalda DEAN, a resident of Thompson Gardens in Corunna and former resident of Port Lambton. Muriel passed away in her 86th year at the Palliative Care Unit in the Bluewater Health Centre, Sarnia. Muriel was born in Salmon Arm, British Columbia on February 2, 1920. She was the second daughter of Charles Harvey THORNTON and Mary Elizabeth (CAVERS) THORNTON. Beloved wife of the late Grant Beverly DEAN for 53 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dale and Colleen and Dana and Vera. Loving grandmother of Catherine and Terry SYER, Christine and Daniel MAGEE, Leslie and Alex PALIMAKA, Lisa and Robert RENDERS, Stephanie and John WYNDHAM and Geoffrey DEAN. Special great-grandma of Felicia, Emily, Nicholas, Matthew, Lauren, Natalie, Megan, Dean, Grant, Garrison, Mitchell and Wade. She is also survived by her sister Doris BRINACOMBE and nieces Brooke and Bethanne and their families. Sister-in-law of Jean CARSCALLEN and Jean DEAN. Muriel was a steadfast Christian who loved the Lord all of her life. In her younger years she taught Sunday School at the Port Lambton United Church and following that was the Sunday School Superintendent for 24 years. She was very loving and caring towards her family and was always there for them. Muriel was also a wonderful helpmate to her husband Grant who owned and operated the Walpole-Algonac Ferry from 1949-1981. Friends may call at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Ernest HERRON and Reverend Bob WHALLS on Friday, February 3, in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. The interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Sombra. At the age of 82 of Ocala, Florida. Passed away on January 14, 2006 at Ocala Health and Rehab Center, Florida. Reverend I.G. WYNS was born in Hollnigosa, Mongolia and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1992 where he lived for 14 years. He was also a seasonal resident of England and Canada. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church, founded Humberlea Church of God in Toronto, Canada, enjoyed writing and collecting gadgets. Reverend I.G. WYNS is predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Magdalene WYNS. He is survived by his children: Dr. David WYNS (Providence, Rhode Island), Ruth ESTABROOK (Mississauga, Ontario), Pauline MOSS (Brampton, Ontario), John WYNS (Ottawa, Ontario), Pastor Andrew WYNS (Newmarket, Ontario), Grace RICORDI (Mississauga, Ontario), Dr. Peter WYNS (Rock Hill, South Carolina), Miriam LONGLAND (Clearwater, Florida), Faith WILSON (Ocala, Florida), Pastor Stephen WYNS (Palm Harbor, Florida) and Michael WYNS (Ocala, Florida.)
