MAYBANK, James Matthew (1940-2006)
Master hair stylist and pianist. A star in the firmaments of all who knew him. James died peacefully on February 15th surrounded by the love of his family and many Friends. James is survived by his spouse David, his mother Florence (Olds, Alberta), his brothers Gerry (Lorraine) and Robert (Alexandra). Mourning him are his nieces Krista and Rebecca and his nephews Mark, Scott and Troy. James' "sister" Susan CRAIG and his "Best Person" Diana MacRI made James' final days ones of comfort and love. All who love James and who cared for him wish to thank the wonderful people at Community Care Access Centre who made it possible for James to spend most of his final weeks in the home he loved. The 6th floor unit at Toronto Grace Hospital ensured that James' death was a painless and dignified one. Our thanks to all the staff. Cremation with funeral to follow in Olds, Alberta. A massive celebration of James' life will be held in Toronto at a later date.

Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 at Leisureworld, Toronto, in her 86th year. Lena will be sadly missed by her nephew Gus and his wife Nancy MacRI, niece Catherine and her husband Ulisse MENDOLA. Predeceased by her brothers George and Joseph CALDERONE. Lena will be fondly remembered by her many Friends and relatives. Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Leisureworld and Shepherd Terrace for their loving care and compassion over the years. Friends may call on Sunday, March 19th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church (650 Sheppard Avenue East), on Monday, March 20th, 2006 at 10 o'clock. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, aunts and cousins, beloved sisters-in-law Lois KUNBEL (Bob) of Saint Thomas and Marlene ROOT of London and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully at his residence after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. John Thomas BOYLAN age 72 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 29 years to Sharon. Loving father of Judy and Mark HALL of California. Linda BOYLAN of London, Kate McCRINDLE and Ted BAILEY of Grand Rapids, Brenda and Rob HOFFMAN of London, Jennifer and Greg COX of Windsor and Angela BOYLAN of Sarnia. Dear grandfather of Meagan, Matthew, Andrew, Michael, Sean, Jasmine, Justine, Joseph, Stella and baby Cox. Also survived by his sisters, Mary HENNESSY and Frances (Tom) BOONE all of London and by many nieces and nephews. John will be missed by his loving companion Zoie. Predeceased by his brother, Jim BOYLAN and by his sister Catherine BOYLAN. John retired from Sarnia Hydro in 1998. Unexpectedly on Thursday, June 8, 2006, Toronto, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Andrew CLELLAND, loved mother of the late Ann HUNTER and cherished grandmother of Katrina MILNER. Will be missed by her family and Friends in Canada, Scotland and Thailand. Mary was a Scottish immigrant who rose to the top of the nursing profession, ending her career as Director of Nursing at Saint_Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto. Peacefully at Twin Lakes terrace on Friday, July 14, 2006 after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. Born in Sarnia Township in October 2, 1918, Art lived his whole life in the Sarnia area. son of the late Graham and Hazel (McRITCHIE) GRIFFITH. He is survived by his son Doug and wife Karen of Ottawa. Predeceased by his wife Rhea (WHITE/WHYTE) in 1999. A veteran of World War 2, Art retired from Canada Customs after 29 years of service. He was owner of Lakeshore Gardens, Lakeshore Landscaping, McRitchie Farms and Griffith Seeds. Art was a long-time member of the Dunlop United Church and was a life member of the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club. Cremation and interment of ashes has taken place. A Memorial service and fellowship gathering will be held at Dunlop United Church at a date to be announced. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club Memorial Fund. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Norman BETHUNE on Monday, May 15, 2006, at the North York General Hospital in his 78th year, after an illness fought with his characteristic optimism and dignity. He was a true gentleman whose family meant the world to him. Norm will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara, his 4 children and 8 grandchildren: Wendy (David BUNSTON) and their children Jamie, Brook and Matt Susan (David BOWLBY;) David (Cathy RYAN) and their children Caleb and Zoe; and Anne (Greg CROMPTON) and their children Scott, Bradley and Mitchell. Norm will also be missed by his brother Don BETHUNE and sister-in-law Di, of Ottawa, as well as many Friends and colleagues from Royal Roads, Upper Canada College, Toronto Cricket Club and Saint_John's Anglican Church, York Mills. We wish to thank Dr's Nashila MOHAMAD and Donna McRITCHIE at the North York General Hospital for the sensitive way they cared for Dad and our family during these past seven weeks. A private family cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of his life will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2006 at Saint_John's Anglican Church, York Mills, 19 Don Ridge Drive, North York. BIGGAR, E. Kent
Born June 28, 1949, was taken away from us on February 22nd, 2006. Kent faced his recent diagnosis of lung cancer with courage and dignity. son of Mrs. Kathleen (Kay) MacRITCHIE of Midland, Ontario and the late Edward (Ted) BIGGAR of Burlington, Ontario. He leaves behind his dear brother Christopher Ralph and his spouse Ron SMITH of Peterborough, Ontario, his sister Debbie and her spouse Robert HINDLE of Perkinsfield, Ontario, his brother David James and his spouse Ronnie of Kaslo, British Columbia, his nephews Robbie, Adam and Colin, his late father's spouse Margaret BIGGAR of Burlington, Ontario and his mother's late spouse Dan MacRITCHIE of Midland, Ontario. Kent will be profoundly missed by his devoted family of Friends, particularly Margaret ENGLISH, Robin PACIFIC and Ross HIGGINS. He was sadly predeceased by his dear friend Philip BARBER and many others that left us far too early. He also leaves behind his sweet kitties Peter and Emily and his cherished harpsichord "Guy". Kent's superior wit and sense of humour remained with him until the last hours of his life. He will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him. Memorial tribute to be announced.
