TRECIOKAS, Mecislovas
Peacefully, at Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home, Toronto, on May 31st, 2006 in his 85th year. Dear brother of Vytas TRECIOKAS of Ottawa, and brother-in-law to Janice. Beloved uncle of Paul, Ellen (Jonathan RATH) and Michael TRECIOKAS and great uncle of Emma RATH, all of Ottawa. Mecislovas enjoyed a special longstanding Friendship with George and Mary ZLATKUS and Anicetas ZALAGENAS. Born in 1921 in Kaunas, Lithuania, where he escaped from Soviet occupation in 1944, Mecislovas entered Germany where he had to work in a forced labour camp. In 1947, after the war, he emigrated to Canada where he worked in Wawa as an electrician. Later in Toronto he worked for Wm. Neilson's for 26 years. Mecilovas' good cheer and bonhomie made him many Friends during his lifetime. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 1 Resurrection Rd., Toronto, on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 10 o'clock. Interment Saint_John's Lithuanian Cemetery.
